Today especially, you have witnessed what this man, as a manager, is capable of.
Injuries and loan players cannot be used as an excuse when we cannot beat a team like Scunny at home.
We have suffered a lot of 'firsts' under his leadership. Like the first Wednesday 'double' on 90 years....the first time Donny and Scunthorpe have won at BDTBL.
Well here comes another first for nearly 30 years, I will not be giving SUFC the benefit of my season ticket money if he is in charge next season.
And this is something I thought I would ever say.
Do the honourable thing Mr Blackwell and step aside for the good of SUFC.

Interesting conspiracy to throw in here, did anyone notice where Speed was during most of the game? He wasn't in the dug out but sat next to Mr Birch.

Awful game btw. Can someone please explain why we set up with two deep banks of four, neither wingers seemed to want to push on in the first half leaving loads of space but staying put.

Anyone for Blackie' Bullshit bingo for his interview? I'm going for "the ball just didn't drop for us" while linking it to bad luck with injuries.

I feel sorry for the season ticket holders. I'd rather floss my teeth with Gordon Brown's pubes than watch a united match at the moment.

Get rid please McCabe or Birch.

and blackwell, It's never his fault its always luck, injuries, should have taken our chances... ect ect

I'll go with:
"Didn't get the rub of the green"
"honest bunch of lads"
"lads playing out of position"
"On another day we would have scored 3 or 4"
"We dominated"
"I don't want to keep bringing up injuries, but...."
"I'm off to floss my teeth with Gordon Brown's pubes"

He has no influence on the players when they are on the pitch. Today, as Bob says, Speed was not seen much in the dug out area and it was unbelievable how we set up from the start against the might of Scunthorpe.
Perhaps the Chairman is trying to 'starve' Blackwell out but whatever, he is definately not up to the job and clearly he is out of his depth at this level.

You can't deny that we had an appalling injury problem this season and it needs investigation as many have been hamstring pulls and strains due to fitness issues.

I now think Blackie will be on his way out.
He doesn't have the support of many of the fans, and I doubt if he has the heart to sort out the mess and tackle a complete rebuilding job.

To which RS should reply "you as manager are ultimately responsible. Presumably you were the one who set up two banks of four of which the wingers didn't want to get past the forwards on any occasion in the first half.

Although I didn't hear any chants from the crowd for the board to sack him, which I expected in the 2nd half.

My guess us everyone was too stunned at the thought of losing to Scunny to react.
The reaction will come over the next few days.

Simple question, no presumptions... Why not?
Plus the fact that tactically we have also been poor.

Injuries may be a factor however Blackwell has been blessed with one of the highest wage bills in the league for his 2 and a half years and has failed to gain promotion. What would make anyone think he would be more successful when that is drastically cut?

Because the manager has brought in poor loan players ,brought back players too early and has simply not managed well. Injuries and suspensions are part of football ,there is not another team in the country who haven't had them ,good management is seeking solutions and vision. We are in a much better position finacially and strategically than most of the rest but due to abysmal management we are in a massive mess. Scunthorpe had some of their best players missing ,we have multi million pound and premiership loan players and they do the double over us....good management ?

It's already been cut! He had the luxury last season and we missed out by a whisker. This season he's been asked to completely reprofile. To keep us in the top half during such a monumental overhaul is a massive achievement. Fuck that, though. He's a twat. He doesn't know what he's doing. Gary Speed is the manager. O'Driscoll in.

Find me another team in the country who have had as many and are as high up their respective table as us.

If that is the case, why have we relied on the loan market? Do you honestly think Blackwell prefers loanees to permanents?

Nosworthy - has he been a bad signing?

Kyle Bartley - big disappointment, given his pedigree, but is it Blackwell's fault that he's a Bambi?

Simonsen - great signing.

I agree with a fair bit of this, but the bit in bold is a piss take, yes? To be fair, he'd challenge for a place in the Loyal Trooper starting 11.

If you are satisfied with the dross that we are watching wek after week I despair for the future of Utd. And it is utter dross dressed up in excuses..

I don't think anybody is satisfied, are they? And I don't think many would argue with a change in manager. But if the fans can't also see that Blackwell has had a lot to deal with this season, on top of his own shortcomings, then I fear for the plight of any manager we get to replace him.
