Time's up for Basham

I can’t really defend Bash, he’s experienced enough to know better. Why did Heck leave him on? Probably didn’t want to risk Robbo if he wasn’t 100%. Particularly after losing RND earlier. He was playing OK before then.
Should he have made more attacking subs? Maybe but McBurnie was playing alright and Ndiaye was looking like our most dangerous player. At times we were struggling to control midfield well enough to create chances. There was a possibility that by swapping one of the midfielders for a forward, we could’ve ended up hitting more long balls towards them, which I don’t think would have been successful.

Not a great performance, shocking for a lot of the first half. I thought we were the better team and probably deserved a draw. Hard to argue we did enough for a win. All in all, pretty disappointing. I was livid last night. I accept Cov may be in a false position due to the ground issues and it’s a tight league where there isn’t a massive difference between top clubs and bottom clubs but we needed to get something last night. Watching RND go off was just the icing on the cake. No points, another decent player lost to injury.

Bash on the wrong side with our token Cub Scout playing mens football alongside him was never strong enough but the best of what we had available

He gave one penalty away and was lucky not to have given another away earlier in the game.

Its no coincidence that since the Birmingham draw (when he wandered off Deeney) and the following games that he has got errors in his game that are very costly to us.

But injuries to other players in the defence seem to favour his inclusion.

Same will happen on Saturday.

RND.
Anel.
Jacko LT.
Uncle Tom Cobbly ?

Daft question really although you no doubt disagree !

UTB
RND is our best LWB fit, and he went off injured.
We tried playing Anel LCB and Bash RCB (away at Hull?), but it worked better the other way round.
JLT obviously isn't fit.

The manager and only the manager is culpable.
He picks the team based on advice from medicos, but Bash has fallen off a cliff. Never was the phrase no room for sentiment more appropriate. I have loved Bash for seasons but baring a miracle his race is run.

Aside from an absolute belter of a tackle against Swansea the other week, he's been getting progressively worse since West Brom away at the back end of last season.

He'll always be a legend and always have my heart, but I think he may have just slipped over the brow of the hill now

How long since he was hailed after being pivotal in victory at Swansea? Some of the knee-jerking, Jesus wept

Unfortunately hes declined big style in the last 9 months
Hes cost us a lot of goals in that period of time
One good game is papering over the cracks
Hes been a fantatsic servant of the club but he needs to be benched

Basham is crap.Always has been . A tall Monty .If he is our MOM then United have been shite, a wank footballer.Gives it his all but we all would.

If JLT is clearly not 100% fit why the f*** is he on the bench for the last 2 matches, why not a recognised Lcb from the U21's one we haven't tried yet.

Worryingly I think we are putting injured players on the bench just to fill the bench. Not sure Hecky thinks there are anymore youngsters he can try out.

A lot of the current crop of youngsters are already out on loan or need to be loaned.

Ky Gordan and Jebbo needed a spell on loan in League 1 with Osula.

He played well up until the crazy tackle, cost us the game but he along with the rest of the defence never gave them a sniff.
Massive overreaction.

Bloody hell, I know football's always going to bring extreme reactions but there really is no room left for common sense any more is there, everything's jet black or brilliant white.

What about confidence and form? Bash is limited. Before he came to us they loved him at Blackpool but aye, in a Bob Booker way rather than a Vas Borbokis way, he's a trier.

In midfield under Adkins, it didn't matter how hard he tried, he was wank. He looked better at the back but wasn't a centre half; then in came Wilder, and that weird, overlapping third centre back role was perfect for him. He held his own in the Prem and he's been bloody brilliant.

No, he hasn't been the same since he came back from injury and his last few games have been by far his worst since Adkins, but bleedinell, it's a handful of bad performances. He doesn't look confident defending (probably not that confident in the others back there either), which means he's not getting forward like normal. You can see he's lacking confidence and form- it happens, just like purple patches of form do.

There's an outside chance (I'd guess only he and the coaching staff know) that he knows he's not right which is effecting him. Otherwise though it's form and confidence after an injury and being replaced by a talented younger bloke. Half the comments on here sound like he needs putting down, give the poor f***er a chance!!
