Perspective is difficult, but I would say his feet are level and his knee is probably offside - but this is the shit that VAR spoils.

Well done lino - if anybody thinks that Billy's knee had any effect on play they need to take up chess.

We love you Bill - and Bogle's first touch !!!Billy.jpg

There’s another angle across the back line which shows him off, but it wasn’t given, so all good

Angle though?
His leg may also well be bending towards the player rather than forwards at that point.

Fuck em, looks inside to me.

The still shot you're talking about is looking along the halfway line, and that will always make the nearer player look further downfield.

You have to have the full line in shot and run a parallel line to try to use perspective - but in reality you need a lot of knowledge about where the camera is and a good deal of maths to do it properly.

Anyway, it's no harm to them and it sets us up for Wednesday and another Brucie Block!

Magic isn't Always Black and White

So if his knee is offside then he's offside, any part of the body u can score with is classed as offside. I'd always side with the attacker tho an say uts a great run/position

I thought the rules were that only offside if the player touches the ball - e.g the goal Newcastle scored against us 2 seasons ago when Shelvey was offside but went on to score

The ball over the top from Fleck (I think) was so bad that it went straight to the keeper meaning Billy was never active.

Correct decision 😉
I did wonder why the keeper felt the need to come out the area and head it clear surely he could have just waited for it to run through to him. Glad he didn’t though

The lino was in a perfect position. OK it's very tight, but great the attacking team get the benefit- even better when it's us.
The subsequent build up and goal was absolutely sublime, the shit show that is VAR would have ruled it out.

I don’t think that’s an issue though as Billy was never in active play as he had no chance of getting to or affecting the ball. As Yellarbellyblade says, it was strange that the keeper came and hoofed it

Shelvey wasn’t offside. Our players stopped because the lino raised his flag and didn’t play to the whistle.

I’m actually disappointed now that Bogle wasn’t 10 yard offside and used his elbow to prod it home.

To hear Bowyer bleating about something so fucking tight which in the end had fuck all to do with the goal, is laughable.

He couldn't piece together a coherent argument where an infraction took place, instead he mumbled something about his keeper heading it (he was out of his box) instead.

Pillock who deserves to manage a club where the fan blow whistles in a desperate attempt to distract the opposition but dresses it up as a meaningful protest.

Serves em right that for bringing Ndiaye down and gerrin away wi it..
Yep. No mention from Bowyer about the nailed on penalty.
Anybody who has played the game could see that he’d been clipped by the way he went down. I can just assume that Keith Stroud has never actually played the game, and his Wikipedia page confirms this.
He made up for it later by booking Bowyer though. What a comedy moment that was..

Your line isn’t in the correct place. You can see from the lines mowed onto the grass that it isn’t offside. It pissed me off how all of the sky pundits sympathise with Bowyer as they all decide it’s off without even bothering to look at it properly. Just like the Ndaye non penalty that the ref got right so says the sky match commentary.

To be honest, Id rather it was 10 foot offside and we got away with a shocking decision but it was correct on the pitch for me.

Hear hear!
I was genuinely hoping the soft southern tosser was going to tear up and wobble his bottom lip on Sky TV!
Fuck him and all who sail in him. Mardy twat........but funny!

I hope Berge fouled someone in the build up to the first, I hope Sharp was offside on the first. I hope Billy and Bogle were offside on the 2nd. Fuck the stupid brum bastards.

It looks to me in that picture that the ball has already been struck. Only just, but we are talking very fine margins here, and Billy would be just that little bit more forward in that picture than before the ball was struck and the last defender looks as though he was moving forwards as well. He would have been very slightly further back at the time the ball was struck.

Harsh. But very fair. 👍😄

It was bloody Hinchcliffe though and did you notice in the second half he’d changed his mind and now it was a penalty?
