Was walking past the lane earlier and saw the McCabes walking down the car park towards the executive suit entrance.
Hope they weren't meeting to write their letters to Santa, last posts gone.

Dear Santa,
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.
Can we have some money to give to Sir Christopher for the JTW.
We've been VERY VERY GOOD!

Love

The McCabe family.

Can’t deny that if it’s only 1 targeted permanent, and looks like it’s Leonard, that is very disappointing and we should be backing Chris.
2-3 quality additions could make all the difference.

You don’t get season after season challenging for promotion, football doesn’t work like that. This squad is strong and the time for investment is now
Couldn`t the 2-3 quality additions be loan signings ? There are fewer players available at this time of year and the costs are high. Why box ourselves into a corner ?

Civil war on S24SU.
Based on he said, she said, FFS it's Radio Sheffield Wednesday that started this shit storm, can we at least postpone it for a month until there is something of substance to go on?

I have brought in a friend to give this thread a very hard stare...

I know, why don't the club tell the press they're going to spend £10m in the JTW, thus every player valuation increases ten-fold when we enquire.
Doesn't go far enough, I'd suggest saying 'money is no obstacle, if we were still in for Cole we'd bid 20 million but we've moved on as money is no obstacle.'

Here we go again...

One moment we slag off teams who enjoy large investment ("buying success" blah blah blah). Next breath it's "Sell up Kev, we need more money investing"

Perhaps we would be better off with some Fish Tycoon??

For fucks sake.
Not asking for mccabe and the prince to chuck money at it but when we recieved large ammounts in the summer you would expect wilder to be given a decent budget seen as the clubs on the crest of a wave and has a great chance at promotion/playoffs if we sign 2/3 key players

Wanker post of the day.

Why is it wanker post of the day? The club are in an excellent position due to Wilder performing miracles on a shoestring budget. Now we've lost Coutts for the season it is up to McCabe and Prince short arms to step up to the mark. We know they won't and will try to do it on as little as they think they can get away with, and with so many club apologists in our fan base they will get away with it everytime.

I don't think the OP is asking for £20m to be put in for transfers. With a great chance of promotion to the Premiership and the pot of gold on offer there, the board should push the boat out to give CW the best chance of achieving this. We're not asking McCabe to piss in the dark with the club's money, we're asking him to fully back a manager who seems to know what he's doing

And if they don't have the money?

When there's a shortfall every year, there is no "club's money".

Amazing though if you try to deal in facts you're a club apologist. If your only answer is spending someone else's money you're some sort of genius.

I think we're talking about sensible investment that could yield a very significant return.
Sensible business decision.

If your not gonna back lord Chris with some sensible investment please sell to someone else who will.
We have received millions from the sell ons in the summer and spent nothing near what we received and now this war chest mccabe promised has peanuts in. Theres only so long kev and the prince can get away with underfunding wilder while he overperformes.

Bang on, said in the summer if we don't back Wilder with sensible money he'll be off, and who can blame him, he is absolutely our best hope of ever getting into the prem again, he could be something special at this club, and it wouldn't take Liverpool type investment, £10-15m max, sell up Mcabe if you can't do the sensible thing.

If they dont have the money to give wilder the opportunity to sign 2 or 3 quality players say 1/2 million each then maybe they should look for someone else who can invest sensibly.
Like i said in the first post but no im a pig arent i ?

And facts how about the 7/8 million we recieved in the summer and the 1 mill we spent at a guess on stearman and lundstram in the summer so thats a rough 7 million accumulated through transfers. But yet wilder can only sign one in January likely leonard which we should have signed in the summer if it wasnt for mccabe not backing wilder again to sign leonard. Which wouldnt have left us with no back up in midfield

Just facts mate

It could. No one could disagree with that. It's the only way to have a chance of recouping any money. They have to have it first though. I've been suggesting for a few months it may not happen. I just don't feel the need to get menstrual about it on a daily basis for an" I told you so" internet medal. I hope I'm wrong.

As much as McCabe gets slated, why should he invest more? It’s his money.

It’s pointless saying sell up. That requires someone wanting to invest. If there was someone, McCabe would have sold long ago.

Redundant post.
Because if he hasn't got any money to invest then he shouldn't own a football club, sell up Mcabe.

Well another fact is that players received promotion bonuses and pay rises. So the £7m is swallowed up by ongoing losses and enhanced wage costs. So to invest further we need further cash input from the owners. Have they got it? Who knows, but the £7m available is hogwash. Owner investment will be the only way to spend on players and their wages. That's the real fact.

McCabe not backing Wilder for Leonard? Firstly there are two owners. Secondly, please let us have the facts on that. Not your take on it, the facts.
