If your not gonna back lord Chris with some sensible investment please sell to someone else who will.
We have received millions from the sell ons in the summer and spent nothing near what we received and now this war chest mccabe promised has peanuts in. Theres only so long kev and the prince can get away with underfunding wilder while he overperformes.

Can’t deny that if it’s only 1 targeted permanent, and looks like it’s Leonard, that is very disappointing and we should be backing Chris.
2-3 quality additions could make all the difference.

You don’t get season after season challenging for promotion, football doesn’t work like that. This squad is strong and the time for investment is now

Wanker post of the day.

Though McCabe is never going to invest big, today’s problem is The Prince. He’s not going to invest what McCabe thought, and the current setup is going nowhere.

I'm sure if someone came in to buy the club with a decent offer he would sell .
he probably would've sold before now but be careful what you wish for ,do we want an owner like the pigs or birmingham or hull ,good owners don't grow on trees just like good managers don't .

This isn't Championship Manager you know...

Fuck me - this thread is bringing them all out tonight!

You can tell we've had a decent start to the season combined with schools breaking and the Transfer Window round the corner...

As much as McCabe gets slated, why should he invest more? It’s his money.

It’s pointless saying sell up. That requires someone wanting to invest. If there was someone, McCabe would have sold long ago.

Redundant post.

Tell you what gets me... after listening to that interview of Wilders it sounds like he’s having to work within a tight budget and is working it on a shoestring. We’re not asking for millions and millions to be invested but give the man who has dragged this club from its knees a sensible budget. 4/5million would see chris bring in 4/5 quality players and let him have a real go at it. This could be the best opportunity in years of making the prem, The manager and players are hungry for it and just lacking that extra bit of quality and depth to the squad. I don’t know about anyone else but I’d rather the Prince and Kev come out and say listen, we’re skint and we need every penny we can get rather than the bullshit of “the funds are there” when they actually aren’t. I for one couldn’t blame Chris if someone with more ambition came in for him and he decides to go. Like I said I don’t for a minute think he’s going to be asking the board to spend millions upon millions but just 4/5million could see him bring some quality into the side. That 4/5 million should be from the walker and maguire money we’ve recently received that seems to have just gone into thin air and never mentioned again. Realistically if brooks goes for 10million quid how much do you think will go back Into Chris’s transfer kitty? I can bet it wouldn’t be more than a million quid if he’s lucky.

PLEASE PLEASE, THINK OF THE CHILDREN. ffs

After the Preston game, I was reading a bit about their owner.

Even modest-sized (& well-run) Preston have an owner who's worth 900-odd million. Compared to Kev's 100m & Abdullah's 150m (I think I'm right in saying).

But even so, wasn't a table published recently that showed, in terms of pre-season nett transfer expenditure, we're sixth or seventh biggest spenders in the division?

So long as the owners hold their nerve this January, & don't go stupid by selling their prized young asset (or any other of the prized assets), I'd say they've been supporting Chris fine so far. We're just not in the same spending league (i.e. for £5m+ players, or for 20grand/week+ wages) that many clubs in this division are in.

I want to know what Sean Thornton and pommpey think of this idea?

Now it's a 20 page minimum :)

I don't want McCabe out. It would be ludicrous if he left the club at this stage.

I will say though that it's pretty fucking evident our recent mercurial success was built on the developed skills and talents of two key players. One point from fifteen is the evidence.

We have banged on about game changing investments before. Signing Brooks was one (but if we are led to believe the bullshit, he's off soon anyway and if so, it won't be any of our business for how much for) but if we are to make any capital on the start the team rightfully earned - and stay in the top six to give the team and the supporters summat to cheer about - then going through the JTW without a credible Coutts replacement and some other strength in depth elsewhere might just continue a line of loss of faith. I still am not clear where this 'bonus' from the sales of Maguire and Walker is factored into the club's fortunes, despite that clear as shit discussion which went on the other day on here either.

All that time Pommpey and I have spent discussed this and all the time all McCabe had to do was find someone to buy him out. WisPig clearly has all the financials, I'm shocked he hasn't been touting the club in the Forty Foot or Park Hotel. Bound to be a buyer in there whose saved his wages whilst managing to live on his benefits.

Fuckwit.

Sell up. New owner wants his own manager in. Throw 50m at it and end up with a bunch of bottlers.

Sound familiar?

Transfer window hasn't even opened and people are already moaning at how little we've spent

Get your McCabe bashing in asap,it's 21st December,it's a rich seam to be exploited until 1st February, just read that last seasons success was all down to just the 2 players, this mind from someone who never saw the team perform,so how does he know such a thing?you may well ask

Wiseblade :D or WindupBlade or FishingBlade/pork. Will the real wise Blade show themselves.
