Just for a few games. He’s done really well and forced his way into the team, works hard, talent isn’t in doubt either.

But that free role he seems to play, I’d rather see Gibbs-White in it. Once Baldock is back, I’d rather see Bogle on the right wing for a few games and Ndiaye given a rest. He hasn’t contributed quite so much in the last few games and just think he could benefit from a break.

MGW gets a bit isolated on the flank and often when he gets the ball, there are two banks of four to get through. Would love to see him totally unleashed.

I like Bogle but I'm not too sure where....right wing may be a shout I don't know. I've read some who seem to think he was great yesterday but he was out of position a hell of a lot and I think we missed George's aggression.

Anyway, Ndiaye.... he'd make a great sub, perfect for him. Let him come on and impact games then when we can't afford to leave him out again, get him started. Didzy deserves his go now.

I think this is a reasonable call actually. I'd see it as rotated rather than dropped. A lot of football to play, young player doesn't need to play every game. McGoldrick back in the reckoning as well.

If the 4-2-3-1 is here to stay then our main strength is the options we have for the 3 behind the striker.

Lots of options now with MGW, Ndiyae, Osborn, Didzy, Freeman and perhaps Brewster.

Ndiaye will inevitably be rotated, but he still has a lot to offer. His first touch and movement are both excellent, he also works hard and doesn't shy away from the rough stuff.

I'd wait until he isn't excellent in a game until suggesting that one 🤔
One change for Tuesday for me, McBurnie for Sharp, just to give the old boy a rest, and give us a touch of aerial cover at set pieces.
Although I realise Sharp cleared 2 corners, and one off the line Saturday 😊
McBurnie had a great cameo at Bournemouth, and deserves a game.

Excluding Peterborough game think he's been good without being excellent tbh.

As others have said, not about being dropped but rotation.

Actually suggested time he was rested in the Stoke match thread.

I thought that Ndiaye had a very good game on Saturday, causing Stoke all sorts of problems when he had the ball, drawing fouls, running them, linking up play. Along with Gibbs-White, they were dangerous going forward.

So whilst i don't agree that Ndiaye should be dropped, i kind of agree that we need to set ourselves up slightly differently at times. I felt that with Osborn, Ndiaye and Gibbs-White we have players that want to get the ball into the final third, but i think we need one of them to drop out. We seem to lose the midfield protection when all three play/ we play this system. I know we all want to see the Blades constantly attacking, but given that most teams set up to hit us on the counter we also need to be wary of this when we attack.

Stoke was always going to be hard, like West Brom, we were never going to get any joy through the middle in the air, so we had to draw the centre halves out, Billy did this much better when Osborn went off. Its not that Osborn had a bad game, he put some decent balls in first half and also linked play neatly, but i don't think i could say that he was really dangerous.

I didn't see enough from Bogle on Saturday (or in previous games this season) that would suggest that he's currently in the form to be dislodging Baldock and i don't think he's that good down the wing, Like Stevens, he appears to be holding back a little.

For his progression he needs to stay in the team. He is playing well and shows real quality at times and is doing enough to be in the side on merit and he will only improve by each game, if he starts regressing give him a rest but he is 21 and just tasting his first league football, could say he is a late starter so he needs to stay in the side as at some stage with a few more games under his belt I think he will really take off, more confidence that he can really do it at this level and he will start flying. If he really starts upping his game he is going to be some player but right now as it stands he is doing enough to be in there on merit, leave the lad in and let him progress.

This fan base is so effing predictable

New wonder kid breaks the first team? We demand he plays 10/10 every week and the second he doesn't he needs dropping.

Didzy rightly takes the plaudits for his cameo on Saturday, but before he was taken off NDiaye was our best player by some distance. Him and Fleck were the only bright sparks of the first half - he created chances, he drew fouls including a penalty appeal, had chances of his own. Second half he continued and I'm confident he was only brought off due to fatigue.

Totally agree...he was excellent and deserves an extended run in the team ...I also thought Bogle did well at FB also....

Wonderful how people view things differently. He was my man of the match Saturday. Thought he was excellent.

Gibbs-White was obviously a big impact when he came in and i think he's settling in a bit more, but for me whilst Ndiaye showed glimpses and looked good alongside Gibbs-White, there were elements of his game (such as his strength on the ball) which needed time... they still do

But i agree, Saturday Ndiaye was that player that all defenders hate. A Jack Grealish but without the falling over. Commentator mentioned it on Saturday that he's drawing fouls but trying to keep on his feet without going down, the foul on him where he continued but the ref blew for the freekick rather than continue with the advantage is a good example of this. He wants to keep going.

I think he's growing into his role, he will need a break at some point for his own development, but that time isn't now. What he needs now is to play more games and see more of the ball because like Gibbs-White, teams can't handle him. Taking Ndiaye out of the team to allow Bogle to get further forward whilst he's in very average form is not something i'd like to see.

The role Ndiaye plays is bloody difficult. Finding space where little exists, turning, looking to take risks, taking some shoe for his troubles. His Stoke performance was miles away from one that should be met with being dropped. If he needs a rest, fair enough, otherwise crack on lad.

I agree with you, but we shouldn't be losing the midfield battle as we've sacrificed a striker to have two "sitting players" - Norwood & Fleck. It's the fact that these two don't do enough that is hurting us. We desperately need some more athleticism and physicality in one of those positions to enable us to play with more freedom, Berge could be the answer if he'd ever sort his bloody fitness out. He looked class against PNE when he came on.

We only have the old guy that we recently signed to kick people in midfield. Sadly lacking a ball winner to protect the back four.
Slater to cement people ??

You're right, but at the moment we don't have the options of bringing in another signing and we don't have the option of berge whilst he's injured. So its about the players we have. I thought Norwood had a decent game on the ball, as did fleck, but i think bringing Hourihan on later was wise as well as he offers more protection

LOL... I think tonight's first half is your answer.

Close thread.
