Time to bin the codgers

Very true it is easy for us to say what we think but that's what a fans forum is for ,to voice our opinion.

I can see where the O/P is coming from.

Although it was a case of simply missing chances today I did feel that if we had younger, quicker strikers up there we would've picked them off and won the game.

When Fleck has the freedom of the pitch in a counter attacking situation as he so often does away from home, you know he's going to find the pass and if we had more pace and trickery ahead of him we would've won a lot more games this season.

brooks is still recovering from his virus I wouldn't judge him at the moment, give him time.

he's a lot to learn yet as we'v seen.

Bless him, your right. We can watch him recover and learn at Liverpool next season.

Some fans have their own opinions and can start a thread if they like.

Some other fans are snidey bastards who make shithouse comments about other posters who start threads.

Some "fans" get off on childish abusive language and think it's ok to defend other abusive "fans" who refer to their own players as "codgers". Maybe the definition of "Fans" needs to be re-written by the abusers so they can claim self-respect as "supporters". Or maybe they'd be well-advised to just take a long look in the mirror and get a reality check.

Then quote the original post and tell him why you disagree. Don't be a snidey little rat.

When Duffy isn’t available it looks the natural fit to play Holmes instead.. why isn’t he playing him then?

Cos Holmes is an upandatem player running direct at a defence and Duffy finds space and pockets to play in to bring others into the game. It's not a natural fit and I can't see why you think it might be. Regrettably, we don't have another Duffy, nor another Coutts.

Indeed Ricky. Nail on head. We can't afford what every other team is looking for and some of them have. We went with what we could afford which may well fall short.

Wilder obviously thinks Holmes isn’t good enough, a bit strange after he pursued him for so long.

I would imagine the long trips for Wales stopped Brooks starting today.

But why does he think Leonard IS good enough ?

At least Holmes, like Brooks, gives us another dimension and doesn't remain anonymous for long periods of the game.

there’s more to selection than simply being good enough
Why on earth he signed Ricky Holmes is a mystery to me - he clearly doesn't want to play him even when Duff injured.
Its the most questionable of CW's recent signings , especially after getting 2 other MFs in the same window.

But, we still could've signed Sean Maguire (PNE) for example, or Paul Smyth (QPR). Unless Irish players are suddenly too foreign for us as well. And surely we could've signed someone on loan quicker than James Wilson.

We did. He was called Nathan Thomas.

I actually mentioned , Sean maguire as a possible signing while he was still playing for Cork city last season ( for LOI ) before our season started
Preston signed a fair few Irish players recently as well

Me too. Won't have seen as much of him as you but he seemed like a great punt and I was disappointed to see him go to Preston. Since then he's surpassed expectations I think.

Wouldn’t have cost much , a couple of hundred , don’t forget we have that euro shit so cheaper again v the pound , also played in Europe last season and was scoring a shed load of goals over here
Cork won the title btw last season and his goals helped , they sold him just before the season ended ( they play a summer season over here ) so plenty of time to have a sniff around and look

That's nearly as much bollocks as the OP...

Who would want the experience of being in the Play Offs? Not like it would give our young guys anything beneficial or give us fans something to enjoy... Let's just settle for mediocrity...

Its not bollocks at all,its my opinion.

And you would enjoy us being pitted against Villa or Fulham i am sure getting hammered by either of those would really help our young uns (who are they) to,prepare for next season.

I will settle for just missing out, will be a great achievement in our first season back.

Why would be get hammered? Typical defeatist attitude...

Thank the lord Tufty doesn't share this negative attitude.

On another day Sharp could've had at least two, Clarke had a great chance and Clayton had a couple himself. Their keeper pulled off some cracking saves.

Life in old dogs yet. Just didn't quite fall for us.
That will be Wilson then ??

Well i know it would be another two games, but cummon do you really think we would fare any different against them two,i am a reallist.

We should have beaten Villa at Home and thought we more than matched them at Villa Park.

Fulham have battered us twice but as our cousins in S6 will testify, funny things can happen in the Play Offs

People need to realise we are carrying some league one players such as Lafferty / Carruthers etc.

We are slowly turning these players over and continuing to have a better squad. Which is all we can ask for without major investment.

We do deserve some clarity on why he isn't playing after all the fucking saga trying to sign him. It's not as if he's saving him for the future, the guy will be 31 when the new season starts.

Isn’t it obvious he didn’t play yesterday because CW wanted to play a solid three rather than a 2 and a 1 behind, like he did at Wednesday and Norwich away for two (which were two of the best performances of the season, coincidentally). And it was hardly a saga - they missed out on him in the summer and then got him in January. Doesn’t mean he has to play every single game

If I disagree with somebody on here, I reply to that person and tell them why. Rather be pathetic than a snidey little rat, which is exactly what you are.

Chedders - if you insist on going through life making ridiculous judgements on people you know nothing about and hurling abuse around like confetti based on comments like mine then you're destined to lead a very sad life. You need to lighten up, and in order to avoid someone taking serious objection to your infantile behaviour get yourself back to school to learn some manners and respect - how on earth can you support and defend a poster who claims to be a Blade yet refers to our strikers as "codgers". We are 1 point off the playoffs after coming out of League 1 - Jeeez... where are folks like you and your mate Stephen Lee coming from? No more on this from me - continue to vent your spleen on me and our failing players, then hop off to S6.........
