Tim Sherwood

TalkSport have been baiting us all season because they know we'll bite and ring up to complain. It's what they trade on. It's their business.

Sherwood still has links to Spurs, an agenda against Levy, and continually panders to the arrogant Spurs fans. It's what they expect.

We'll see at the end of the season. I mean, Serge Aurier? Really???

Tim Sherwood is that bloke in the pub who stands next to the pool table telling everybody what shot they should have played.

Then when he finally has a game, he gets hammered and blames the cue.
Someone should give Steve McManamanaman a crack at a managerial role with all the advice he was giving about our team and what subs to make vs Arsenal.

I'm sure he'd be great.

Tim Sherwood is absolutely right. No current Sheffield United player would get in the Spurs Squad. Because to be signed into the Spurs Squad, you have to have a profile which fits their self image & revenue model. That's football today. It's not about whether a player is good enough, or better than what Spurs have. It's about how well known they are, and where else they've played. It's about their CV. When transfer windows open, the Spurs Owners, the Media, their Fans are looking for the Marquee Signing to add to the Squad. The player other clubs are reputedly chasing. The player knocked out at the Semi Final stage of last year's Champions League. The one who is always on Instagram. The one who the shirt buying, TV Subscribing fan in Dubai has already heard of. Spurs are not looking to sign a Sheffield United player for their squad. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. That would not meet their Business Model requirements. We're not in their pond. They need a price tag, they've forgotten about making the World dance. Tim is right.

He's right ,don't be offended the point he is making is that we are a better team than them and that's down to the managers

Cascarino is also right when he says he wouldn't swap our back four ( 5) for theirs ,neither would I
In fact I wouldn't swap any of our squad for theirs as they seem to lack mental fortitude which is a pre requisite for united players

The problem for wilder will he as the net spreads and the signings become more and more marquee this is the problem you get ,you gain more quality but lose hunger and desire
He's not right at all, ignorance

Trying to be neutral I think most of our fans are biased regards how great our players are in the world of the PL.

On an individual level not a single United player would get in the Spurs starting 11.
I would love any of our players to be transferred.....then you’ll see how average they are.
We probably get the chance with Lundstrum next season....he’ll go to someone like West Ham and hardly play.

However the secret of our success is playing to the individuals strength....so they look much better than their normal standard.
Take Basham for example....he’s an average centre back in a 2, he can play right back but is average and he‘s been tried in midfield and is decent but only average.
So what does Wilder do with a player who is versatile but not good enough.

He realises Basham is super fit....so asks him to play all 3 positions in the same match......genius!
We know Basham is average as a centre back in a 2.......but he’s fine having cover/ protection from Egan in a 3.
Baldock used to get caught out of position up in attack all the time at MK Dons.....but Wilder tells Baldock to continue bombing forward
and when ever he is caught out of position then Basham is around to mop up the trouble In that right back position.
Basham is also told to get forward into midfield to make an extra man when required.
So Basham in our system is superb but in another PL team he would be exposed and never get a game.

In the PL there‘s a stress on quality and individual talent...several goals are scored from nothing.
However Wilder has coached all the players to play a simple pass and move game.
The onus is more about tactical savvy. familiarity with the system and hard work.

We prove time and time again that a well oiled machine will always beat higher quality individuals who don’t gel as a team.

Our fans inferiority complex is scary at times.

Jack O'Connell would be comfortable at any team in this division. And there aren't 10 better fullbacks in this division than ours.

Anyone wonder why Sherwood did not make much of an impact in management?

To be fair, Sherwood has been complimentary about us before. This was after the Brighton away game....

Some of the snobbery in that though. Wilder should move on because A. "Sheffield United aren't a big club" and B. "Oooh it's up North, it's gona be cold" (when comparing to the Everton job which is further North and colder!).

I can’t understand why some of our fans are getting the strop on over what someone is paid to do or say ,
the back 4 of Spurs are a joke and yes some of our players would not only get in the squad but the team
But up top Spurs have a strike force when it’s working well ( not while Mourinho is there ) who can be lethal .
Our club has had a fantastic first season back in the premier league , and I hope it’s the first of a few decades back at the top ,
But let’s stop givin it the billy big bollox
We deserve to be here and where we are as a right
At the end of this season our manager will be rightfully acknowledged by the managers / commentators and pundits for the fantastic work him and his team have done throughout the season
It doesn’t bother me what anybody in the media says about us , I don’t get upset ,
I know that in my lifetime following United this is one of the best times I’ve had following our club
And that’ll do for me

Disagree with squad, but probably agree with first 11.

The main issue I would have in putting Blades players in that Spurs squad is whether they could play in their system......And this is true vice versa to be fair.

I don't rate Aurier, Sanchez, Dier or Davies.....But would JOC, Egan, Baldock, Stevens be as successful at this level as a back 4?
Plus Alderweireld/Vertonghen would be their main CB pairing but for off the field issues, and as a two, there's no one i'd replace them with from either squad.

Both Lloris and Henderson are good shot stoppers, but also prone to mistakes in all honesty.

In a 'Blades system'

...................................................Hendo/Lloris

..................Vertonghen..........Alderweireld..............JOC
Baldock..........................................................................................Stevens
....................Sissoko.....................Berge......................Fleck

.........................................Kane...........................Son

In a Spurs 4231 though, I struggle to fit many Blades in.

Tim (mr nice but dim) - Get a proper job.

I think I would take Son and Kane, but the rest I would not be bothered with.

Tim Sherwood is a gobshite but he wasn't very wrong in that analysis, he simply stated what we surely all know, which is that the team is far better than the sum of its parts

It's not exactly as if he's a completely clueless gobshite like this twat

Sheffield United aren't a big club? Think they are. But not MASSIVE.

Fuck him and his views

Next time he’s on give him a buzz and ask him why he didn’t import all this glorious insight into his management career, which for reference looks like this
Spurs - Dec 13 - May 14. Sacked
Villa - Feb 15 - Oct 15. Sacked
Swindon - Nov 16 - June 17. Sacked

All hail the font of all knowledge, Timmy. 3 jobs, 3 sackings, no job for 3 years
Not managed a full season at any Club

‘Kin 🛎😬

I think the big club comment is fair enough. We haven't seriously troubled the trophy engravers since before WW2! The cold up north comment is daft especially as players don't seem to have a problem going to Man City or Man Utd. To be fair to Dublin who made that comment he did say we play good football and has been a 'supporter'.

To be honest Tim. If the Spurs players are that bad, i can't see any of them getting the the SUFC squad.

Anyone claiming Dier is a better Centrehalf than Egan or O’Connell is quite frankly deluded.
Baldock and Stevens both get in.
Fleck gets on the bench
Henderson gets on the bench
