I'd like both of these guys. 46 difficult matches to navigate with 3 central midfielders. I've seen more of the English kid obviously - am surprised he's not playing more at Everton.

He didn’t even say it’s an issue as such he just said it takes longer now.

Apparently he’s quality, but does beg the question if indeed we’re going for both where Peck and Arblaster would fit in? Both are real quality at this level.

You can forget Arblaster as any sort of regular starter until at least Christmas and given the style of play under Selles and the workrate required, you can easily see players regularly getting 20-25 minutes off the bench, so rotating to keep them fresh could be what we're going for.

Selles said it's a clear cut application but these things just take time. It'll be done this week I'm sure.

Imagine how flat out that department is at this time of year.

Probably work a traditional 9-5 on a queue system and overloaded with permits to review.

But just because it doesn’t happen instantly half our fan base have to decide it’s an issue and it’s off.

Literally not what Selles said at all

Just out of curiosity I checked what the average match time in the Championship was last season, and apparently it was over 104 minutes, therefore my estimate would probably be central midfielders from the bench playing potentially 30-35 minutes which I think also means it would be sensible for us to look at 2 more central players for a 46 game season. I'd also assume it would have a significant positive impact on results if we're able to refresh the intensity of the press when most opponents won't have the same options as us. It could be a flex of our parachute position to realise a significant competitive gain.

Excellent point.
Just as the top Premiership teams can run lesser teams ragged for 60 minutes and then bring on 5 full internationals to really rub the salt in, we should be looking to do similar in the Championship.

Leeds & Burnley were both able to do that last season.

Also worth remembering that Soumare and Hamer are likely to be pushing the 15 yellow cards barrier which could result in them missing at least 6 games each throughout the season, just through suspensions alone.
