So you've had previous problems with your season card and then still decided to turn up 2 minutes before kick off hoping it would work?

Sorry but you deserve to miss part of the match. You could have easily gone to the ticket office sometime since the Chesterfield match (only had a week!!!) or got to the ground at no later than say 2:30 to make sure you get into the ground before kick off.

It's a fair point SwissBlade :D

Hey Yes, sorry but No to your suggestion.

Yesterday our daughter joined us at the match so we needed to buy another ticket. My wife joined the queue at 2.35 p.m. and eventualluy sat in her seat at turned 3.20 p.m. For a normal crowd of around 20000 that is unacceptable. By the time she got served she gathered that the 12 servers were doing all they could by streamlining their procedures as best they could but unfortunately they were obliged to sell some folk new season tickets which clearly is ridiculous in the run-up to a game and took ages of course. Solution, take their phone number, sell them a ticket and deduct it from the season ticket price during a phone call on Monday.

Why didn't I queue? Watching a game in the pub!! Wife never complained one bit, bless her:cool:
We picked up tickets from the collection booth, and saw the queue to buy tickets snaking right round to the south stand turnstiles. For a division 3 game against bottom of the league it really is ridiculous. I understand they'll have problems setting up booths around the ground with networking it all up for cust. Id's and loyalty points etc but the current situation is a bit of a shambles.

No problems myself but looking down the car park at 2:30pm I was astounded to see a queue for tickets nearly to the top of the car park, I know some have problems with ST/ membership cards etc but the vast numbers buying tickets on the day of the game is just crazy when it is so easy and cheaper to buy online in advance. Not sure what the club can do really when fans don't help themselves and turn up ticketless at 2;30.

Maybe the club was caught out by the numbers after they'd read on social media how many supporters were packing it in after last season.

You're being a bit of a smart arse really though aren't you? You'll see from my reply earlier, I was exactly the same as Swiss, was also told the same as him, checked yesterday before I set off. Bloody hell I'm just repeating myself!

In your case I have sympathy because you contacted the club and was told everything was sorted. 100% the club's fault in your case.

I stand by my view that if you had problems with your season card then didn't try and sort it before the next game or turn up in plenty of time so you can sort any issues before kick off then you've only got yourself to blame.

What my suggestion of getting to the ground earlier? It's not just me, all football tickets suggest getting into your seats at least 15 minutes before kickoff.

I can't see what more the club can do? Tickets are available for purchase online, telephone or in person weeks before a fixture. If fans choose to leave it until the last minute they take their chances that they might get in late. But hey let's blame the club, everything is always their fault!

Was just going to post similar myself. It's just asking for trouble. No idea why people queue on the day when you can buy in advance and save a couple of quid in the process. Ok, you're always going to get some people who decide to go at the last minute but if you know you wanna go, get you're customer number, get online save a few quid and actually get to see where you want to sit.

I wasn't actually that fussed about missing the start, but the steward didn't know that.

In fairness I've had games in the past where it's not scanned one week, fine the next, I think it happens regularly.

Yes, perhaps I shouldn't have trusted the steward last week, but the real point was that he could've sorted it swiftly but chose to be quite obnoxious.

Do you need a replacement card? Mine is the original one from 2006 (ish), and still going strong.

Got one, I asked them to replace it as I didn't want that hassle when I went back to the kop

Are you this harsh in real life :)

Yes, I appreciate your positivity about your view, but you actually said that getting to the ticket office at 2.30pm would have resolved the problem, it wouldn't have though.

What more can the club do? Get the season ticket right initially, not sell season tickets on the hour before kick off on match days, have more tills for selling tickets; this is not an isolated problem for last Saturday when there was an average crowd in fact.

I was wondering Swiss, in approaching the ticket reader... did you wave your season ticket well over the top of the scanner/throw it over the top of the turnstile? that could be your issue.
Ha ha I handle it very different to my football skills :)

Talk about kick a man when he's down, surprised you didn't come up with "Swiss attempted to give hisseason ticket to him to scan, but he flicked the scanner over his head."

You're a bunch of Twats Foxy and raul :)

Just to add to this moan-about-the-ticket-office thread, I ordered 5 tickets for Fulham at 9am Friday – they haven't arrived. They do seem to be struggling with the basics based on recent interactions...

It's ok they'll probably send a bloke with a scanner to your house tomorrow and he'll tell you to go to the ticket office.

Every time I have had to deal with the ticket office they have been great. If there has been a question I email and they have answered really quickly and sorted it. Tickets ordered online (including my tickets for tomorrow) are always ready when I call in or turn up in the post within a couple days. Not sure if that makes me blessed or a BoxOffice Clapper, but in my experience I think they are excellent.

My Gillingham and Peterborough tickets arrived within a day of ordering them online. My card arrived the morning of the Chesterfield game (ordered a fortnight before) and the Fulham tickets are yet to. I would describe their current form as mixed...
