That's the problem, where's the joined up thinking? Strategy? Buy players not suited to our system.. hmm :(
Valid point, but devil's advocate,,when JOC wasn't replaced, rumours were the money went on berge/brewster, lots of criticism for CW, and yet no rumours of a counter argument that he didn't want them, and a told you so, departing shot.

I personally think those older players could be part of our plans and look good at this level once confidence returns and they work out their roles in Slavs system. We do need new blood to get us to that place though.
At the moment we're playing half the team as square pegs in round holes. Hence, I reckon, Slav wanting to bring 4/5 in (before the Ramsdale sale) so we can play in the formation he wants. I think it's going to be a very long season if that doesn't happen. I have little faith in say Fleck or Norwood suddenly finding form again at the age of 30/31. Or the strikers suddenly scoring freely or working as a partnership.

So if we don't sign a player, you assume any reasoning published, ie Garner chose Forest over us, because he knows their manager, is an excuse, And we should just have got the deal done, by any means because, well anything else is just an excuse? Viera failing a medical, excuse, Diallo choosing Atalanta or Man U demanding a huge loan fee, just more excuses?

Our manager is calling for 4 or 5 additions. If we reach the end of the window with one loan signing being the sum total, that’s a failure. And, I imagine, there’ll be some excuses trotted out.

I tend to be fairly positive, but if we’re struggling to get loans and free transfers over the line yet clubs such as Reading and Derby are doing more business, quicker, I’d suggest our issues are not just budgetary but also operationally.

I suggested that we look at Wilshere and Sturridge on pay as your play deals after an extensive medical with low 'prove yourself' wages on free transfers. Who did I suggest we 'buy'?

I never said we should have sold 'Rammers' for less than what we bought him for, just shouldn't have faffed around for an extra 2 million quid for most of this window then have to scramble for a replacement.

Verrips deserves not to be written off entirely with that said.
You were moaning like a five dollar whore that we didn’t get them, which doesn’t happen if you’re insisting on your new criteria.
You also said we should accept the early bids for Rammers which you know would have been much lower than the £18M offered the week before the £24M. I’ve no idea what you’re trying to make up with your £2M comment.

Are Reading and Derby competing for the same players as us? Okay Slav says he wants 4 players identifies them and passes them onto the transfer team, what if we can't sign any, for a variety of reasons, from wages to availability to competition from other clubs, and the team go back to Slav with another list, Slav judges they aren't better than what he has, what excuse?

No, but they’re in financial disarray (perhaps even under an embargo) and they have had more incomings than us. Look at the transfer moves of the team in the top 6. And parsimony isn’t off the menu - Coventry have got two loans from Chelsea and four free transfers.

Ultimately, football is an outcome business. The manager wants some new additions. The fans see the same and recognise that fact. Fulham and WBA are the two other relegated clubs and are in the top two on 10 points. We’re currently 23rd with 1 point. We’ve made one loan signing. I suggest SJ is right and there’s a connection between the two.

United need to get their act together.

So we should have re signed Morrison and Jags? And once again Fulham and WBA have owners with incredibly deep pockets

I’m guessing being part of the worst Premier League team all of time isn’t summat players want on their CV.
We weren’t were we? I thought there’d been 2 or 3 worse than us.

Was looking like we were on our way to that accolade when I posted that back in January. Thankfully we managed to get enough points on the board in the second half of the season to avoid it.
