Hi Stegosaurus here

Apparently we're gonna get Andy Carroll pay as you play. In a bidding war with West Brom

Exactly, another window ending, and we now out with a whimper again.......... come on Bettis ya cunt, get some players in!!!

Yer come on lets spend another £20 odd mill on another Brewster !!!!!!! ,

My god if we aint got players good enough for this league now, we never will have.
Let the buggers who put us down here in the first place get it together instead of just turning their backs on us and stealing a wage.
We know they can do it, so let them man up and stop disrespecting the fans and the club....

We dont want them here, they can't be bothered, get them loaned or sold, play the under 23s and get Slav the players he wants.
If the manager says we need 4 players, I'm kinda guessing, hes knows he needs 4 players?, I am only guessing, but, unless he just likes collecting players, I think he probably thinks, he needs them???

By the way, your boss wants you to move to the new office in the Shetlands, what do you mean you don't want to go

Not really?
Employees under contract, can't be simply sent to another location, unless they agree, just like players can't be simply offloaded, unless you want to pay up their contracts.
It pointless to say sell him, loan him, without realising there is little if any interest from another club, that would interest the player, why would anyone from our midfield want to take a pay cut, admit their career is in free fall and move to Peterborough or a League 1 club

They dont have to, neither do they have to play?
The Max Lowe deal is testament to this...
Forest cant afford to pay his wages, but can pay a percentage.... getting a player out playing, and even if we have to cover half his wage, it's better for the club, is it not??
Smith is going to Hull by the looks?
And looking from the players side, surely they would rather be getting paid the same and playing somewhere??
Now, to selling..... Berge, he wants to go, hes put in a request, so it's down to the agents to facilitate this move, hes a high wage earner, we will probably lose out on a deal, but, if it allows 2 players to come in, that want to play, and that help us turn the rot around, is it a bad thing really??
It might be football, it's still a business.
So, anymore points?

“We don’t need to get rid of Rhodes, Reach, Bannan they are quality players at Championship level, etc. etc.”

Heard it all before across the city. When things get stale, you can’t just float along.

We need to restructure the squad. Slav knows it. We know it. It’s inexcusable to be beaten to the punch on free transfers and loan players. We’ve known we were down since January, where signings were stopped on the basis that we could spend some money in the summer. THIS summer. That was the strategy. But there’s seemingly no strategy now.

Parachute payments start reducing very quickly as the seasons go by, we can’t afford to write off a year due to intransigence in the transfer market.

Now, that's a point!

You mean other than the obvious point that players can't just be off loaded, by the looks of it Forest want Lowe, good, great we get X amount of wages off the books, but tgat is only possible because a club came in for him and he likes the deal/offer.
Not aware Berge has handed in a transfer request, as for Smith, fine not a problem but again it's a 2 way street there has to be an offer and there has to approval from the player
You keep shouting about selling X or Y, when there is no reported interest from any club, and no indication the players want to leave

Go on then get rid of contracted players, without any interest from other clubs or interest in leaving, there is only one option if you want them out, pay up their contracts and release them

I’m not sure it’s quite the dichotomy you make out.

No one is asking for huge investment and people are broadly aware and understanding of cloth needing to be cut. Pare it back to this simple point - we are facing financial oblivion in a season or two if we don’t get back up. So in that context, how important is it we make quick decisions, don’t drag matters out, have a coherent strategy, get the ball rolling early? I’d say it was acutely important. But we’re down to days away from the transfer deadline. It’s poor management.

Or, as I've said, they sit on the sides.
I do understand how it works, and, there are teams interested in some of our players, unfortunately the club, as it's being run, as a business, want the best deals possible, which is obviously best for the club, but, we have players that arent performing etc, and as I said, it's down to agents to facilitate moves!!
Il put that again, it's down to agents to facilitate moves.
Whether they be loans or sales, we cant just carry on like we have all last season and the beginning of this, things need to be done, players need to come in, which means players need to leave, so, it's down to the club, representatives, agents, to work on what's best, and if it means players have to be paid up, then maybe that's the way?
You cant just keep paying someone you get no return from, it's bad business, as were finding out currently. It's not rocket science really.

But it is, you can't loan or sell players if there isn't interest from another club, and or the player is willing to move, which if you want player out of the door in order to cut costs, restructure or for any other reason, you have to come to an agreement to terminate contracts, ie pay in full, including all bonus payments

So there’s no interest or all players are unwilling to move? That’s an unreasonable position to take.

We are, as a club, careering to a financial chasm and someone forgot to fill the brake fluid up. We’ve had more time than the vast majority of the other Championship clubs to gear up and get matters moving. The outcome everyone wants is a restructured team capable of mounting a promotion challenge by the end of the window. If we don’t get that, then that’s an operational failure of the business. It’s not anyone else’s fault apart from ours if that doesn’t happen.

Why is it unreasonable? How many of our players have we had bids or interest in, other than Ramsdale, Slater to Hull, Slav wanted a closer look, Lowe to Swansea/Forest, Ramsdale, lots of talk about cutting cloth getting rid of dead wood etc, only works when other clubs see our dead wood as an improvement on their dead wood, or you pay up their contracts

Right, well, if it's in the interests of the club, then, termination by mutual consent, would have to be the way, and, if they haven't reached the position to get their bonus, is isnt payable under the contract, if the bonus level is unlikely to be reached, it is also, not payable.
Is that better for you?

terminating contracts, effectively removes all chance of meeting whatever caveats were agreed regards bonus payments, the player and his agent would obviously demand that, they did not ask to leave, did not hand in a transfer request, and might be open to their contract being laid up, it would have to include bonus payments.

So on the basis of your position being there’s no interest in any of our players and all our players are unwilling to move, what’s the solution?

sorry but I don't have to offer a solution, I am merely pointing out that players can't be bought and sold like tins of baked beans, we can all complain that this player or that player isn't good enough, but we can't get rid of them without consequences, Lowe to Forest, looks like we may cover a % of his wages, okay he is surplus to requirements and paying 10/20/30% is better than 100 % but as for the others, numerous 'stories' in the press Slav is happy to move on a few Burke/Brewster, but unless someone cones in with an offer, they aren't going anywhere
