Throwing objects

It's mindless tribalism what unfortunately comes with supporting a football team. Rob makes a good point in that clip regarding fans point scoring against eachother. Every team has their bad eggs. I've been to away games and seen blades chuck coins coins at opposition fans. You could go deeper and say it's a reflection on today's society etc etc but this thing has always been about and I don't think it'll stop anytime soon
Every team has their bad eggs - sure. But Wednesday have a catalogue of incidents like this. When was the last time SUFC had to put a statement like that out? SWFC do it several times a season.

Throw in the death-mocking and horrendous racist comments, and it's much more than a few bad eggs. It's a sizeable minority. They have far more bad eggs than almost any club in the country, never mind the city.

Animals.

Surely their massiveness is statistically working against them here.
If just 0.1% of all football fans are dicks then that's well over a million dick pigs.

Whereas Barcelona, Man United, or Real Madrid for example would only have around 100k such dicks around the world.

It just doesn't seem fair.

Firework incident apart , I’d be amazed now if the coppers & SAG allow both sets of fans to be on Leppings Lane for the next time that our paths cross . Likelihood will be just Upper Tier & lower closed for segratation

It's about time that bunch of neanderthals had a few games of playing behind closed doors. It isn't just a few of them either. We've had the displeasure of also having to play them a few extra times in cup games the last couple of seasons. Can't remember the last time a game passed uneventfully with them.

The racism last season should have been the point for something severe to happen. The video of what one of them did to one of our players wasn't the end of it. Next game there was constant racist shouting, again a lot of it caught on video.

If they can't stand watching their team lose or even seeing a goal against them without being like a load of village idiots they should refrain from going to games.

That seems to be the logical solution. I don't know where that leaves us when many of our fans want to be adjacent to home fans to create more atmosphere at away games though.
It also begs the question as to how clubs cope where home and away fans are divided by a few seats and a line of stewards.
Is it some of the fans or the stewarding in Sheffield at fault? Sadly I suggest it's some of the fans

Was about to say this - G and H block wasn’t it? For a firework offence (the same as yesterday).
Not read whole thread but ours was a distress flare that was fired in from a 'gun' like device, happened at least twice in game and one of them hit a young lass. The lad who fired it did time for it if i remember rightly. Not condoning what the pigs did the other day, as it was dangerous, but wasnt quite the same.

Was surprised by how much got thrown on Sunday, and the fella walking down the perimter track to mouth abuse at robbo or burrows.

Have to say, for balance, when we scored a hell of a lot of bottles went flying to the lower tier, we didnt cover ourselves in glory

Wasn't some kid in the LL lower tier spat on and then hit with a bottle by one of our fans? Saw a social media post about it. Neither themselves in glory but throwing a firework at the players which then exploded on the pitch is enough to get areas of the ground closed

I remember us having a third of the South Stand closed for a season, following our fans’ behaviour and objects being thrown.

I doubt the same will happen to them.
I've always thought the powers that be have a soft spot for them - dunno why especially after the 97 - but how these disgusting acts are treated will hopefully come under the media microscope.
I'm currently abroad with no access to Sky sports news - is anything being reported in UK mainstream media ?
Or has the cover-up started already ?

A friend of mine in the Met reckons the police bill for the Sheffield derby is the biggest in the country (England) for all same city derbies (i.e. not Liv v Man Utd). He says to an extent it's SYP still feeling fucked over by the Hillsborough inquiries (deservedly so) but also it's become increasingly violent. He says there are advocates for banning away fans from both games in SYP, but also the clubs themselves. Sunday's events won't dampen this talk.

Hopefully we don't cross paths for a bit, but when they do, both clubs need a concerted and co-ordinated effort to ensure all connected ( incl divvy spouses) are fully aware of the need yo take the temperature down. Cunts who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions are using what they see and hear as an excuse for their cuntery.

Carry on in the same vein and it's home fans only followed by capacity restrictions when cunts who throw things still havent got the message.

There were several rows cordoned off at the front of the upper tier so any fan on the upper tier managing to spit on the fans below must have got to the front - unless they had mastered projectile spitting. If it did happen (the spit) it's primarily the fault of the spitter but the segregation and stewarding should take a small portion of the blame.

It would be interesting to know where all the police are ferried in from on Derby days - I doubt they're even all from South Yorkshire

Can only go off this, assume he's already been named and shamed

Surely throwing a firework at another person(s) (football players in this instance) is a serious criminal offence?

Lifetime ban and prosecution for the moron who threw it and punishment for the 'Classy Club' should be imposed.

ANYONE caught spitting at others or throwing objects needs to be punished in some way as well.

They need the book thrown at them this time, all the stuff that's been mounting up there in recent times is still ongoing, examples need to be made, they are now the perfect example.

Aye
When we netted a fair few fuckwits ran down to the front & were ‘giving it large’ to folk below . Also a number of (indiscriminately) launched projectiles (bottles?) from well in the Blades contingent
Rehearsing the ‘usual arguments’ about stewardingbut:
minimum wage to (try) to prevent a coked up retarded obese gorilla charging down a dozen steps hell bent on a ‘mission’ to indiscriminately abuse anyone :- no thank you

As far as i can tell, the stadia where fans are separated by a couple of rows of seats & stewards are all far more modern that either the rust bucket or Bramall Lane.

I suspect it isn`t about the seating arrangements in the ground, but rather whether there is sufficient space and segregation under the stands and outside the ground.

If SAG do decide not to allow fans on both tiers at Hillsboro in future, I suspect we would be given the lower stand only given they will want to continue their tit for tat 2.4k tickets approach.

Quite why they don`t have netting like we do on the BL stand is beyond me - it feels like that would at least solve some of the issues.

Any suggestion of banning away supporters is far out of line - this isn't bloody Glasgow - it shouldn`t be hard to police.

Throwing objects on to the pitch or at other fans should result in an immediate ban.

It should be like it was many a moon ago - away support gets the whole away end in both fixtures.

The subhuman explosive-chucker should be prosecuted to the fullest extent
And the rustbucket should be shut down for a while.

Club & fans belong in the gutter with a foul-ridden display by the players and crimes from the stands by such fans

Horrible horrible bastards who forget it's a sporting entertainment , not a chance cowardly to inflict injury on their opponents

Way more serious than our little handbags for which we've suffered heavy fines
The firework incident vs the pigs at Bramall lane ended up with g & h block being shut for a lengthy time, same should apply here.

Aye
The current “arrangements” are clearly not fit for purpose at either ground with one set of fans (sic) above ‘t’other. It’ll not take much (more) for a complete ban on away fans akin to what happened with the ugly sisters in Glasgow.
Alternatives such as giving the entire end (a la FA Cup ?) would be controversial given demand for tickets exceeds supply & compelling folk to shift from ‘their’ seat & stadium layout prevents the ‘option’ of splitting/ segregating an end or putting away fans in a corner ‘side on’ (perhaps John Street?)
Any ‘re-location’ most likely flounder / fail given it would ultimately be predicated upon fuckwits not being fuckwits for <2hours

Goes back a long way as well. When they got relegated on the last day in 2010 against Palace they invaded the pitch and some fat mess was swinging wildly at Clint Hill as he was coming off the pitch.
