just reading the view from vale (excellent work again Roygbiv) and it got me thinking back to earlier on in the season, with this thread sticking out in my mind......

I too keep thinking back to that game. The Gillingham defeat really did just look like a freak result at that point. I think that view from got the highest viewing figures for this season which indicates how positive we all were

Back then, Adkins' super-positive psycho-babble really seemed to have done the trick. I often wondered whether early doors, we were just two matches away from taking off, those back to back home defeats to Bury and Colchester. Two wins would have taken us top at that stage and the season might have panned out differently.

But then again, probably not. Our crapness would have struck at some stage, wouldn't it?
