Three worldly goals

All footballers can get good shots in on target if they are allowed to.

The secret is to challenge them and stop them in the first place. Not really a secret at all is it?

We should have had more shots today, that i have no doubt. Whether we'd have scored them is a different matter but it won't hurt to try.

The issue is for me is that we only have 1 natural goal scorer on the pitch in Sharp. I am ok to solidify things but I don't expect any goals from that midfield. Woolford saw loads of the ball on the left, and you can't help but wonder if that had been Adams he would have come inside and got some shots off. I just don't get playing a guy learning his trade upfront and moving Baxter to the left. Coutts was blowing out of his arse and I thought we could have seen Flynn too.

Have to say it was the right side of defence and midfield at fault today - Hammond, Edgar and Brayford. The dirty work wasn't done properly by a midfield designed to do just that though Basham was effective first half. I think Long should have done better with a couple of the goals but the point is they shouldn't be getting those shots in. We were very slow at picking up on the fragility of their keeper and CH's and putting pressure on them. Even so we should have gone in at half-time ahead. We really do have to convert those periods of dominance into goals. I thought Coutts was good first half, but not nearly so impressive second half.

Sammon looks to me like a player whose confidence is shot - doesn't really look like he wants the ball and with Done out it leaves us looking decidedly thin up front. When Collins went forward towards the end of the match you could see what a difference a big guy good in the air could make. Sammons is not good in the air and lacks technique. Woolford looked a better player again today and I would have no argument with those who say he is worth a place ahead of Adams on current form. I wasn't too surprised by the substitutions and like many others I thought the subs added nothing today and we lost shape with them. Baxter back on the pitch and I think he got a more than fair ride from the fans but he looked less fit than I have seen him for a good while. Disappointing performance - we should have beaten them. We really do need to make things happen by being bit more ambitious in the final third. At times it looks like we are trying to walk the ball into the back of the net.

As much as I like Baxter bringing him on was mystifying. If he was taking Sammon off why didn't he put Che up top? Within minutes we had Baxter on the wing with 2 wingers sat on the bench. Piss poor substitutions again from Adkins that upset the rhythm of the team. He did the same at Scunny

Schoolboy defending for the goals, Howard was criticised for his long range shot stopping but with hindsight was he that bad ? Or is it our shit back four that will make any keeper look poor, I don't think the best keeper in the world would have kept those shots out, we have two keepers who are just about adequate for league one I only prefer Long because he is younger and might get a little better. Our defending made a average Peterborough team look a class act going forwards, hard to believe they have been struggling to score many at times this season.

We have given EVERY opposition team a Wembley style pitch to play on when they come to BDTBL.

It looks fabulous and appears to play exactly that way - even in January.

The opposition are unfortunately, having a field day.
