Thoughts from the Southend game

Coutts, Baxter and Basham were OK. JCR couldn't hit a barn door with his crossing though I am afraid, no matter how tricky he can look if there's no end product what's the point. Sharp and Adams were poor.

Agree about Long amazed how many people thought that was a good punch on here? Weak as Piss from where I was sat.

JCR was a constant threat all game I thought ,lack of anticipation from our forwards is more of a problem than the crossing in my opinion ,Baxter put some good crosses in but the same end product and JCRs.

When the Southend physio was running across the pitch a bloke a few seats down from us says look at that fat bastard with the kitbag, my mate says that isn't his kitbag it's his packed lunch

Che only has a couple of moments in the game otherwise he was poor.

He should have changed at least one striker with 20 to go.

Neither Sharp or adams had too much influence on the game today. Sharp seems to be preoccupied with grappling the centre half to worry about playing the ball. Baxter was MOM for me by a long way. Ive slated him immensely in the past but today he took the ball under pressure and for the most part played some great balls and whipped in some great crosses only for their to be no one home.

75% of the time Adams gave the ball away. Why Done, who is significantly better as a striker than him at the moment, wasn't playing is beyond me. Sharp gives everything and was unlucky not to score today.

Thought George was a bit unlucky on the goal,which was like similar goals we've conceded with the ball being cleared to around the edge of the box to an unmarked player.
Bash for me had a good game..far better at Centre Back than in Midfield..Collins..I know he scored,but wtf???
Baxter was MoM for me..Coutts did ok...agree about JCR putting in some decent crosses..nobody seemed to attack the ball and get across defenders..All in all not the end of the world from 2 down,and unlucky not get the winner.

The chubster got a bit of stick from the AFC Wimbledon fans the other season it seems. Wish we had a clip of the run to treat the left back. Don't suppose you caught it, Foxy?

Coutts ,Baxter JCR and Basham all played well today ,we controlled the midfield for a change. Adkins praise of Long (great punch for their goal !!!) is beyond me. Lack of subs was stupid ,Done and Sammon for Adams and Sharp should have been made with 15 to go ,or at least one of them. Thought it was a decent fast game and fair play to them for not sitting back. Who does Collins keep heading and passing to halfway up the south stand ?

Totally agree with that double substitution up front.

Alan Smith, Wendy's physio in the 1980s and 1990s was the quickest physio I have ever seen. His sprints to the injured players were in the same running style as a top 100m sprinter. He was the physio for England too (under Venables, I think)
