This was how we used to celebrate promotions

Wilder didn’t want everyone on the pitch because he has the class to realise it wasn’t ‘technically’ done yet

There should be a height limit bar around the pitch, a bit like you get on a roller coaster. Anybody under 4’ 10” tall can run on the pitch and they won’t block anybody’s view. Even so it won’t guarantee that there won’t be trouble.

It’s just bizarre that on a a great day when we’ve been able to celebrate a great achievement, and at a time when some of us were still out celebrating a great achievement, that anyone is trawling the image libraries to form this OP.

The fans were happy. The players were happy. Their families, who wouldn’t have been on the pitch had it been invaded, were happy that they could be involved.

Why do you need to go on the pitch though? Nobody has yet been able to answer that particular question.
I have on several threads.

Why do players run to the fans to celebrate, sometimes jumping in to the stands? It is because the peak of celebrating as a group is together, not clapping each other at a distance.

Yesterday was brilliant though, not complaining.

13 goal différence actually

I’m pretty sure I was on the pitch in 1971 and Eddie Colquhoun was smoking as the players acknowledged the crowds. Those were the days LOL

Fans on the pitch and the players came out in the directors box, if Bert's memory recalls correctly.

We used to do a lot of things back in the “good old days”, times change, get over it!
Whatever happened to:
'It 'im on the 'ed,
'it 'im on the 'ed,
'it 'im on the 'ed wiv a baseball bat
a lovely sing-along little ditty :)

That's exactly right, they did. Bloody hell the memories
