.....I live on the outskirts of Bristol and it is already unbearable here. I wouldn’t mind if they had turned us over properly but they will never have a luckier win against anyone.

I have to be critical of two people though, Fleck for the stupid and needless challenge. Wilder for taking Basham off who was influencing the game.

Sorry chaps but Fleck cost us two points, Wilder cost us the other one. Time to give our heads a wobble and dispense some foolish pride. Game management is the modern expression for what was needed tonight. We don’t know how to do that.

I'm assuming you've seen a replay on Sky of the Fleck challenge then? I ask only because live (and right in front of me!) it didn't look like much at all. I've not seen the replays yet as they aren't online, but I'd be interested to see if it was really bad enough to warrant a straight red as the only card we got all game, when Bristol got away with murder.

Agree with you on the subs from Wilder tonight.

Agree that Bristol will never ever get as lucky as that again. Especially as their winner was, very clearly, two yards offside.

Definitely red and definitely onside. Sorry mate.

Ref has to send him off. It was reckless, both feet came off the floor and made heavy contact. You could see there was no malicious intent but there didn’t need to be. The way they ref it today made it a sending off. Fleck can have no complaints.

My issue with the red card is that referees only seem to make those correct decision against us. Phillips at Leeds springs to mind. Also if we’re going to say it was reckless/careless but not malicious, we’ve lost Coutts for the season to one of those.

Can’t argue with that.

We can very rarely tell there is no malice intended.
I don't know how you know that.

I agree but it depends on the ref. Unfortunately when you introduce a human element into any job the quality and decision making will not be consistent.

Motion and body language (amount of follow through is one tell tale sign).

I’ve played football, a lot, that’s how I can tell.

Bash was gone. Knackered. Only reason he took him off.

The error for me was Duffy. He gets on the ball and keeps it up the field.

Definite red and looks like the player could have suffered a serious injury.

Wasn’t intentional, but ref made the right call and had a very good game all round.

That loss was all our own doing.

Best ref of the year today. Thought he did a very good job.

Leeds ref bottled the red card

Tell them they won and yet all Sky were on about was how good we are. In fact say you switched on to post match analysis on an Italian channel and say they were praising Bristol City for a win against a top side but then were told that we were actually in the same league so they all started crying about the injustice.

Fleck got the ball first. Personally speaking, that's how I know there was no malice, (therefore not a foul) plus his eyes were on the ball not the man and we've all watched him enough times to know he's not a dirty payer!

Stearman was probably thinking how the ref didn’t blow for a high foot in the build up to the goal. But he played about 3 of their men onside. We will win plenty playing like we did tonight, hopefully with that bitch Lady Luck on our side

Fair enough.

From where I sit it looked offside. But the liner on that side had a poor game generally. He missed loads of pulling and shoving all game. Thought his flag was weighted down.
