Think about the ones that are just starting out on their united supporting odyssey.
You might say from adversity comes strength, but the risk is substantial, that with no heroes in red & white for a good few years the hook into the club gets a little more difficult to set.
There was a brief spell when it looked like clough/maguire/brayford/baxter/murphy might form something, but we managed to fuck that up pretty quickly.
What have we got now?
Adkins? Good record in this division, but at the moment I can’t even say he talks a good game.
Baxter? Undoubted ability, but for whatever reason unlikely to be playing
Brayford? We are managing to make him look average, leaking goals down the right hand side regularly
Adams? Remember him?
Sharp – The only name I’d allow my lad to have on the back of his shirt. After two unsuccessful efforts he is at least making an impact this time.

I think one of the reasons we are getting decent crowds now is because 10 - 12 years ago we did have some heroes, some character and some atmosphere, and the kids that started coming then felt it & it stays with them.
The kids that are being introduced to it now are facing a difficult atmosphere and a team that is devoid of character and talent, but most worrying of all any desire or ability to change that is absent from the club.
I’m afraid it doesn’t bode well for the next generation.

I'd genuinely discourage any kid of mine from supporting Sheffield United.

The way those grunting twats in S6 are going, the next generation of kids in Sheffield will be pigs.

It happened when we started doing well under Warnock and exploded when we went up, loads of young lads and lasses in Capital One shirts, smiling faces watching a team of heroes mix it with the Ronaldo's and Rooney's of this world.

Now the only thing you're likely to see at Bramall Lane is apathy and Dean Hammond.

My five year old daughter, yet to experience a match day will be brought up a blade, league club or not.

Correct. Your task would just be so much easier if they could give us some signs that they've got any clue what they're doing.
