Hmmm so there were more there for the Leicester U21 match. So some people actually DID get slightly excited by this new farcical format. Come on own up who were you??? Or did some thick fuckers just think we were playing the champions??

Need to turn the title of the thread around...who the fuck went to the Leicester match but didn't go tonight???

Good explanations are required!

A satisfying loss.

Out of the competition we go.

COUTTS SCORES A GOAL!!!!!!!!!

We'll have no worries beating Walsall in the league game as long as Coutts plays.

Losing to them here makes us more likely to beat them in the league anyway.

Good game time for Brooks.

Will probably discourage Wilder from going with anything other than 3-5-2 for the time being.

If we beat Grimsby are we still likely to go through?

So United now have to travel to Grimsby for a dead rubber. Wonder what the fine would be if both clubs just refuse to play it. It should really just be a points deduction in the Checkatrade Trophy. Or maybe banned from participating next season....

Joke of a competition, it's bad enough normally but with the inclusion of youth teams it's gone beyond a joke now, and the attendances reflect that. Premiership managers moan about their workload; what about L1 and L2 clubs who have to play 46 league games, start from round 1 of the FA Cup, compete in the League Cup and waste even more time in this Mickey Mouse Cup. Scrap it, please. Genuinely the only competition where I've freely wanted us to lose so we can go out. And the funniest thing? The best academies couldn't even be arsed to enter!

EDIT: You also get stupid situations like this:
