Showed a good touch. Well-built lad; sort of a bulked-up Billy Sharp, but plenty of pace.

Ultimately my view will, I suspect, pivot on whether he can find anything like his goal-scoring touch at Posh as opposed to QPR. That, with hindsight, was very much the wrong move for all concerned.

I think that's a good assesment, I'd say much of the same. I was impressed by his touch too - it's normally a good indicator of talent.

The only way we may differ slightly is on his goal contribution: I don't think I'll judge him solely on that. Looking back at last season, at times we lacked an aerial threat to get on the end of our countless crosses and at other times, we needed someone with pace to get behind defences and make them uncomfortable - In Washington, we may just have both.
My point being, if his qualities cause defences problems, and create space/chances for others (I'm thinking Sharp) then it will be money well spent.

If he comes on with ten minutes left and plays like that every time he is definitely worth the non fee we paid for him
He got a good reception and positive reaction from the crowd. Why.? Because he chased ,showed a good touch and three times at least made them work hard to try and get the ball forward. Good start

He’s made a good start.

McGoldrick has been getting fitter every week and playing 90 minutes today backs that up - he could have easily been taken off but wasn't, Sharp was.

If he stays fit then today's performance indicates what we can expect from him.

If McGoldrick and Washington are in a good place physically and mentally we'll not be regretting our failure to sign a higher rated striker.

You're right, though his physical presence alone should be enough to make him a contender in aerial duels - he'll get chances to head the ball, let's hope he takes them.

I loved McGoldrick today too: you've hit the nail on the head with 'classy.
I said on his thread that he's the black Berbatov - his touch is great he links up with everyone fantastically.

I feel very luck to watch a team so full of classy players.

Watching McGoldrick yesterday made me realise that as part of the evolution under Wilder we are beginning to see footballers throughout the side. He’s a joy to watch, such intelligent movement, and links play beautifully. What a signing.
