Personally I believe we should've changed the system as soon as JOC got injured and we could clearly see Robinson couldn't play that role.

The structure and cohesion of the side was what earnt points last season.

There's not enough quality in the side to remove the understanding and try to 'outplay' sides with other systems.


It can get worse, these narrow 1 goal defeats can turn to 4 or 5 if you want to try and play more expansively......
There's not the forwards or creative players for it anyway.

Ok, how about... Should be be playing 5 at the back?

Wes aren't keeping clean sheets and we can't open up any space up top. Logic would dictate that we need to switch momentum from back to front which we aren't doing. We're just sitting in with and extra(average) centre half.

A system that requires Jack Robinson to play is always going to fail. Play 4 across the back until we can find a proper left sided centre back. There is a reason Robinson was 3rd choice CB at forest.

Maybe so, but I was tracking his position intently first half, and in terms of how advanced he was, he was largely on a par with Osborn, granted a bit further forward. He certainly wasn’t playing the Duffy 10. Davies was consistently picking the ball off their centre halves, precisely where a 10 would/should be hassling.

I still believe 3 centre halves is a complete waste if at least two of them can't contribute to an attack. Midfield is overun and we're under the cosh immediately.

Baldock and Stevens have looked jaded for a while. Osborn and Bogle looked far more of a threat.
