This morning my Mum texted me to lift my spirits by trotting out the increasingly tired statistic about the 90-91 season. My very swift response was to point out that we had Brian Diane and Tony Agana up front that season. And then the lightbulb moment. With a bit of cod liver oil in him could Deano still do a job for us? I bet secretly he reckons he could be on 4 or 5 already this season.

Agana made only 11 league starts that season

The solution is 3-4-3 for the rest of the season. We looked quite dangerous in that formation yesterday

Get your pace up top and just go for it. If we keep creating chances like we did yesterday, they will start going in.

Take McB out of the firing line for a bit, and have McG and Sharp as back up attackers.

It's as good as anything we have at the moment.

I’ve given up thinking about formation changes as CWAK just won’t have it.

For what it’s worth though I do like yours 👍

The solution is get rid of CW. Football is not about sentiment. He’s devoid of any new ideas, 1 point out of 30 this season. No other PL club would keep a manager with that record. Unfortunately his time here is up. The longer CW stays the longer this poor form will continue.

Oh dear, what is wrong with you? We aren’t just any Premier League club, he isn’t just any manager. He is the best manager even if we get relegated with one point. He deserves our patience and respect.

You’re talking utter bollocks. He’s the best manager? Fuck off. Shite loads of managers have achieved a double promotion within 2 seasons, CW didn’t even manage that. We were the biggest club in L1, the fact we didn’t get promoted sooner was a disgrace. We had a huge budget, he overhauled the full squad, not any L1 club could do that. He’s now spent £100M in the PL and we look fucking pathetic. So, clearly, he’s not the best manager, and by statistics, he’s the worst in the PL.

Wow you are delusional.

Wow you are delusional.
Are you going to make a point, or continue talking shit?

I know I’m right, 1 point out of 30 this season, any other PL manager would be sacked.

Why the fuck do people want him to manage us next season in the Championship? So he can take us back up to the PL and then relegate us again?

Get a grip, there’s always someone better suited out there, and at the moment, I’d sooner have Sam Allardyce.

It’s not the worst idea, I’d swap a forward for a ‘10’ though and play McB.

like that line up although i would prefer 433 but know chris wont change from 3 at the back so yeah why not go with 3 up top going for it is our only hope and if we get beat 3 - 0 so be it at least we would have had a go as for chris wilder he has to stay even if we go down its only a small minority that want him out just wish he wasnt so stubborn with his tactics

You've been rumbled, porky. Nobody's falling for it.
Every time you use any words like “Pork”, “Pig”, “Wednesday” I fucking full body shudder because it’s utter school yard stuff and I can just imagine the type of cringeworthy adult you are.

I think McB needs ... ‘a rest’
Like the boys on the podcast touched on... it doesn’t matter if you’re playing for the working men’s on the village rec or for Barca at the Nou... if you’re a striker and haven’t scored in 10... then you get dropped! We need to change things up top.
Burke should get a run of games. He’s looked dangerous in every game he’s played. Burke and Brewster/Mousett. Raw pace and drive!

You might do. It's a fairly base reaction, so I try to avoid it. But I'm totally convinced you're pork. If you're are a Blade, you should be ashamed of yourself. And that's not based on your recent posts, which would be understandable if I'd fallen for your act. But you've made nothing but negative comment since you joined, ages ago.

You're a fucking pig, nailed on. A clever one for a grunter, but a grunter, none the less.

As much as I agree we need to be more positive, in this league that kind of formation is a recipe for disaster. Mouse (especially) and Burke are unlikely to track back consistently and with Baldock and Osborne covering the wings Berge and Fleck would be completely overun in midfield by teams playing 3 central midfielders that are way better than they are.
Sorry to be so dismissive but IMHO that is tactically nieve

...We could try something different though or just play the same and keep losing 1-0 every week. Least we might score with that formation.

I was thinking along the same lines. I would probably have Lunny for Fleck, and McBurnie for Moose, although I can imagine that wouldn't be popular.

I know we keep losing and usually 1-0, I know we are deficient in many ways at the moment.

But on another night we could have won that game 8-3, Its nothing short of incredible that not one of those 22 chances, including at least 2 tap ins didn't go in. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it.

The formation isn't working like it was iuntl lockdown last season, but you can't blame it for the lack of goals last night.
