We've all had a moan and a whine on here about who should be manager, who shouldn't, whose fault the current state of the team is, is McCabe really interested in us? etc, etc, etc.

The common factor between us all on here (i hope), is that we all have the best interests of the club at heart, we all want us to win and progress up the league and we all want to a return to the ground having some atmosphere.

Whether we like it or not Micky Adams IS our manager, we need to get behind him and the team, get back to the lane and shout and sing our team on. Yes it does sometimes take the team to spark the crown into life, but likewise we CAN have an effect on the them.

I haven't been much this season for a few reasons, work etc, but mainly because sadly I lost my passion at the Play off final and it hasn't returned. I shall however be getting my fat arse back to the lane against Donny and for every other game that i'm not working for the rest of the season, I shall be going with optimism (blind?) and with the
desire to shout and sing in support of the team. It is time for us all to get behind the team, because we are Sheffield United fans, not fucking clappers or whatever you want to bracket people as, simply United fans. It really IS that simple.

There are many who will decry those of us who support our team through thick and thin.

Fuck 'em. Like Mr. Large, I'm a Blade. This just could be our year now. It probably won't be, but you can live in hope. That's what makes us Blades.

........because sadly I lost my passion at the Play off final .........

My son, grandsons, and myself haven't been since the Play off Final for exactly the same reason, so if practical, we are planning to be there on Monday, getting behind the new "team".

There are many who will point out the incompetence of the top brass, the bullshit constantly flowing from the top brass and the ineptitude of the players, management and coaching staff. These same people are also loyal, devoted Blades who fork out their £400 each May and want the same as you - the best for SUFC.

I'm still pissin me sen that people think Birch/McCabe ran a well crafted recruitment process where people were meticulously interviewed with a 'thank you sean for your time, very interesting, we'll get back to you, we're obviously seeing other candidates too' type of response. I don't think recruiting a football manager works like that. Proper, serious clubs identify their target - which Birch basically did - and then go and get their man. Will take me a while to get over it obviously.

Good luck Micky - I doubt your Blade credentials will help you when you discover the scarcity of talent in our ranks but all the best and here's to a solid 4th bottom finish.

Wow, your loyalty knows no bounds.

Welcome back though, we need everything and everybody.

What if they did identify their man and their man said no? Just a thought. I don't know - I wasn't part of the interview process.

Perhaps the dozens of those who claim to be "in the know" could enlighten us, with actual proof, of what happened. Personally I reckon United might have been either taken aback by SOD, or not willing to give in to all his demands, or just turned down flat by either SOD or Ryan.

I'm still pissing myself that people who weren't part of the recruitment of Micky Adams and have nothing to do with the board of Sheffield United claim to know EXACTLY what went on while obviously basing it all on guesswork, which until we see proof otherwise is all that it is.

As I said earlier, what has happened, has happened. We can't change that and constantly speculating about who was spoken to, what was said and how much was or wasn't offered is getting tiresome. GET OVER IT. IT HAS HAPPENED! MOVE ON!

great init, people who basically couldnt be arsed to go after the playoff disappointment are now urging us to be the difference. Not quite Gary Sinclair "be the 12th man" esq but yep, pretty ironic really.

All you going to Burnley, come on.... be the difference, you know we can do. Me, the fire is just too appealing, i cant be arsed.

Totally agree Casp, good stuff.

I'm pretty certain he didn't say no and I'm pretty certain he wanted the job but we're never gonna agree on that, I can't offer evidence obviously but as ever, I aint just blatantly making it up.

for me, it starts after the next two games.

MA can't change anything around with all the players thata re missing due to injury and suspension.

I've wrote off the next two, then he has some breathing space with the cup game and a chance to bring one or two in

Pretty certain = can't offer evidence = no proof. Sorry Mic, but although we are all pretty certain he was offered it but hasn't taken it, no proof = making it up.

I reckon he was offered it too, or at least was the first choice candidate, but I have absolutelty no proof whatsoever, and in a court at least that wouldn't stand up to cross-examination. It's like believing in aliens, or Stephen Fry being made from cheese. No proof = made up, no matter how strong the belief.

Anyway, SOD isn't the manager. Micky Adams is. So let's support him. That's what supporters are meant to do, after all.

Mrs BoSS tells everybody that I have supported the Blades through thin and anorexic!

She's right and so are you!

There are many who will point out the incompetence of the top brass, the bullshit constantly flowing from ... blah, blah, fecking blah...

Seriously Mic, it really is time to shut the feck up and keep your peace for a while. You've been criticising the shit out of everything the club has done since you came on the board, but you have gone into overdrive over the appointment of the new manager. Whether you were sat in on the interviews (maybe you are KevMc's secretary?) or know feck all like the rest of us, its time to stop raking over every ember trying to find something else to criticise, some failing in a process that you weren't privy to, or criteria that you didn't choose. Thats it. New man in place. First game today. We all know how you feel. It really isn't necessary to find ways of rephrasing it ten times a thread...

But how else will he get attention, Dunc?

It's most certain due to a lack of options, but Adams's first line up is the most attacking and positive in years!

Wright
Calve Ertl Nosworthy Lowton
Ward Britton Williamson Yeates
Cresswell Evans

Bench: Simonsen, Parrino, Kozluk, James, Harriott, Slew, Bogdanovic

Deffo down to lack of options - big pressure on Willo for a first start in ages. Not many options for centre midfield if he doesn't make 90 mins!!

Welcome back though, we need everything and everybody.

Since when have you been the attendance police? I'm not sure "we" really need you and your poisonous bile, but each to his own. Surely, if you're right, that it's all the BOD's fault, you wouldn't blame people for walking away?

It took me longer to get to where TB got to after the play off final, a whole season longer in fact, but finally, Blackwell knocked it out of me, and Trig Jnr (TY), but I do feel re-invigorated now.

len has a theory that thousands have walked away because of the way the BOD have lied to the fans, you'd obviously go long with that kind of unsubstantiated view, you're good at such speculation.

TB walked away because of the shockingly bad football, we did too. I wonder if we're not the only ones? Time will tell, but I suspect that if Adams plays the kind of football I've seen (not just read about) at Vale, the decline could be halted and who knows, maybe even reversed? We'd all hope for that wouldn't we?

amazing really 2 strikers!!!!

And two ball players in central midfield, and two wide men with pace and dribbling ability! Defence looks patched up, but let's hope we're up for it.

By the way I think it's embarrassing that we have a player on the bench who doesn't even have his own profile on our official website. Now that we're hopefully finished with the rubbish from Hungarian and Chinese football, the writers can focus a bit more on our youngsters from the academy.

I don't think TB said he couldn't be arsed, but anyway, you get a vote as a bigger Blade, well done.

It's a great start then.... 1-0 come on blades, lets hold on for longer than usual..

lol, TB? TriggerBlade \ TravellingBlade? Dont want to get personal and all that, but in my language your posts have basically said you couldnt be arsed.

Hey dont worry about it, i really, really, really am trying to break my obsession with Sheffield United. I want to be like you - honest! After 40 odd years of watching the Blades (yeah i suppose that is pretty big, thanks) although i try to act like i dont give a feck, i still struggle to eat my tea after we lose. Pathetic really, if we carry on like this i will down to 6 stone soon. Hang on though, lets look at the benefits...... yay a new diet, much better than weight watchers etc. I'm going to market it!

It's pretty clear thousands have walked away, for a variety of reasons one of which is the lies as you say - what amuses me are the rallying cries and about support and staying together from people who took their bat home because we lost a play-off final and had Blackwell in charge. Blackie was sacked and the crowds haven't changed..We've now just appointed Port Vale's manager and have the same people at the top yet no team and no players - yet its all about rallying cries and a feeling this time that somat is different.

It wasn't intended as a 'rallying cry' it was merely my thoughts and intentions to try and be optimistic for a change, and to get behind the team instead of moaning all game. Yes I was pissed off after the play off's, but was a culmination of that, work, family and rising ticket prices which limited my appearances at the lane.
Is there anything wrong with this? No I think not. You could be accused of being the antithesis of a supposed 'rallying cry' spouting your negative shite post after post.

Fair enough, nothing wrong with it. Welcome back, hope you enjoy it. Seems to me since Speedo left we are getting alot more men in box and quite incredibly look reasonably dangerous - and very dangerous at the back unfortunately which means we need to score alot of goals
