Quick Quid banners the full length of the top of the family stand! Everyone revolt!!!!

Joined together thinking at the Lane ......

You dont pay, we send Marlon round ....

I can't think what United could do next to irk me any more than currently. Announce a tour of Syria? Put a spike on my seat? Show my ex on the big screen having horizontal fun with Nick Griffin?

*shakes head*

I did mean to say at the weekend how incongrous it was. Couldn't face coming on the forum to say so though.

The main thing I dont like about it is their logo looks awfully like an owl from where I sit

It's immaterial who sponsors who.
No one is forcing us to be customers of theirs.
At that time and on that day we have much bigger problems than this one.

Who actually cares who sponsors us if they pay well?

Don't understand the fuss about all these short term loan companies. They state on all their stuff how much it costs then people complain when they can't afford it?!?

I think the issue is more the declining intelligence of the inhabitants this country.

"We change kits too often".......Don't buy them
"I don't like payday loan companies"...........All legal, just don't use them
"We shouldn't sign scum like Marlon King"...................erm.....erm.....Don't put your buttocks in the palm of his hands.

:)

Im hoping some Photoshop wizard can come up with something involving -

Quickquid
Ched
HRH Abdullah
KMC
Marlon King

GO!

From the South Stand on Saturday it looked wrong, playing a team in yellow, the steps in the stand are yellow and now the top of the stand is, combined with how quiet we were, it started to feel like we weren't the home team.

Never mind 'Quick Quid' what about the advertising board in front of John Street midway between the halfway line and the Kop?

I can't recall which company it is but it has two great big Owls 'eads on it, either side of the advert.

What sort of a twat in the commercial department is so out of touch, that they thought for one second, that would be acceptable?

Endorsing the financial exploitation of the masses is one thing, but Owls in The Lane is like having a string of pork sausages hanging over the synagogue door.

Sort it out Utd or I'm sending my season ticket back!

Looks a little bad as we were told we had not done a deal with a sponsor like this.

Mind you that was with regarding kit sponsor.

Just wait until a couple of the Kiosks on the family stand are replaced by Quick Quid kiosks. Half time loan anyone?

Could be worse I guess, McCabe could have renamed the ground "The Scarborough Holdings Stadium" when he took control of it :D

Hear Fulham are getting rid of the Michael Jackson statue. Maybe we could have that sandwiched in between the legends in the South Stand car park?

Nay lad that's far too sensible. And what will the pious do for their daily dose of offence then?

I know this thread is old and has been commented on by many on here.

I happened to see a Quick Quid advert earlier today. The advertised APR was 1734%. Maybe we've become immune to the reprehensible rates of interest that QQ charge customers. Sorry if I'm late in discussing this, but for my club to consider, let alone actually accept, these bastard's shilling says so much about those who hold the purse strings at SUFC. Does this make me naive? To be honest I don't care, this should be corrected ASAP......United, you take my breath away!

What next McCabe? Sponsorship by any business regardless of how offensive it's business?

Perhaps that's the return that HRH is expecting on his £1

Beggars can't be choosers. I imagine Quick Quid offer more in sponsorship than...Oxfam, for example. The club needs money, so I imagine they went for the best offer.

The dangers and risks of using these money lending services are more well known now, if your foolish enough to use it, then the consequences are yours.

I fail to see what the problem is really, they're a business that offer a service to customers and are paying us to advertise the fact. It's not like we are advertising the contents of a computer previously owned by Ian Watkins, it's just a company offering a short term loan.

fair trade bananas - taste any better? nope. Cost more? Normally. (most supermarkets don't give you a choice)

The only people its fair on is the producers... unbelievable!

While it isn't illegal I can't see anyone sane of mind sitting comfortably promoting a company with APR's in the 1000s of percents. Oh hang on we are talking about McCabe again aren't we. Ahh don't worry, we're all Blades aren't we?

I suppose I just/expect better from a club promoting itself as a family club. However, I'm just happy they weren't the shirt sponsor.

There's a matter-of-factness about having a company such as Quick Quid as the sponsor of a stand that I'm both intrigued and worried by.

If only it were as simple as saying that if you don't like them then don't use them. Imagine trying to use that simplistic logic on a drug addict? Just because they're legal it doesn't necessarily make them a power for good, or conscious of their responsibility towards those who are financially strapped. I'm sure they follow industry guidelines regarding lending money, but as their particular model is built upon such exorbitant rates of interest it might just be that their conscience is flexible enough not to be overly concerned by the potential for debt or ruin caused by such basic, some might even say base, money lending practices.

You're right, no one forces someone to ask for a loan.....hang on, that's not quite right is it? You could do your best to prevent someone being exploited by a drug dealer, so why not a loan shark, that's right, loan shark. That level of APR (1734%) is through the roof and repugnant, and defending the indefensible only contributes towards one of the major ills of modern day society. Withdrawing that type of temptation teaches a potential debtor how to cut their cloth according to their fabric, otherwise a debt will grow and often follow someone throughout their life. Not only is that a vicious circle, it's also something we shouldn't be encouraging. Their is genuine poverty in this 'wonderful' land we live in. Food banks exist and the need for their services is growing exponentially, you don't think there could be a correlation between debt and money lending do you?

Once people start borrowing money with banks at 27 % interest its just as bad as this appears legitimate, If people are too stupid to pay this over a long term and can go bankrupt at this rate all its doing is speeding up the process.
Quick quid are praying more on stupidity than poverty, Ive been out of work , but gone without rather than borrow , why ? not stupid . #
