Should never have been allowed back in. 50 years later Don Revie was fixing matches on a regular basis during Weeds so called golden era. The scene in the Damned United where Brian Clough told the Weeds players to put their medals in the bin because they had cheated was true but Clough was talking about them kicking crap out of the opposition. Even Clough didn't know at the time what Revie was doing.Leeds City were kicked out of the league due to illegal payments in 1919. Herbert Chapman was the manager at the time. This led to the formation of Leeds United and Herbert Chapman later won trophies at Huddersfield and Arsenal
Never tire of attaching this article. Gary Sprake bravely put his head above the parapet and was ostracised by the rest of the Leeds so called golden greats for 30 years till he passed away. Revie did a runner to the UAE when he knew the Daily Mirror were going to go to print. Typically the FA swept it under the carpet because they had appointed Revie as England manager. They really were Leeds scum and entered into the cheats Hall of Fame along with SISU and the S6 Massiv.
Why has Mirror scoop on Don Revie been airbrushed from history?
A bad omission in the Sunday Telegraph's article on disgraced former England football manager
