He played up top after Sharp went off, he was often the furthest forward player and challenged for goal kicks. He was in the corner with the ball, he wouldn't have been if he was playing in midfield still.

We were rubbish today once we scored. Should have buried them because them throwing the kitchen sink at it for the last 20 was always coming if they were behind.

Need Wednesday to do us a favour and all is not lost. Egan out is a huge blow as are the 2 players out injured

The players took their lead from Wilder today. We were controlling the game until Sharp went off and the obvious move then was to put Hogan on to ensure we still had somebody beyond Madine. Instead we went negative and went with just one up front. From that point on it was obvious what was coming and we did absolutely nothing to stop it, even giving them several opportunities to score before they actually did. The Duffy substitution gave us the chance to take a positive step but instead we went even more negative and brought on Coutts who was completely anonymous. Previously we would’ve made the positive changes and we’d have gotten a second, today Wilder has decided to try and defend the 1-0.

Have to say, that whilst I'm a big CW defender, I agree with everything you said there. The team was nervous and defensive, and the manager was too.

We were trying to see the game out after 60 minutes. We needed that 2nd and I kept commenting on that throughout the time when we was really on top. I could see the kick in the balls coming up - I clearly know United more than I know my wife after 20 years of marriage.

True, with Hendo - once again - saving us on several occasions. It's not like we haven't been warned over the last four games. When Millwall missed the pen. you'd have thought our team would have rolled their sleeves up and adopted a 'none shall pass' attitude, but no. We've been 'winging it' for too long now and - as everybody knows - if you go into the last 10-15 minutes with just a one goal lead, anything can happen. And yesterday it did.
Compare and contrast the two teams. When we had a (rare) attack, Millwall had all eleven back and denied us any shooting opportunity (made easier by our usual dithering/needing an extra touch/sideways passes). Millwall? We kept giving them yards of space and retreating allowing them to 'tee up' shots.
We've gone past the 'we move on', 'put it behind us', 'anything can still happen' phase. To see the skill, effort and committment on show in all the other Quest games last night - including from Wednesday - made our display look even more pitiful.
If our lads had nerves yesterday, I can't wait for the play-offs...

Only player in the 11 yesterday who bothered to run with the ball, turn a man and take a shot when it wasn't 6 yards out and into an open goal. He's fit, clever, brings others into the game, tracks back when he loses the ball. That aside he's wank.
