In our promotion season we lost heavily at Middlesbrough and drew at home to Millwall. I feel frustrated not to have held on, but we haven't made that bad a start to the season. I expect Heckingbottom will make a couple of changes in midweek and we will get to see the new signings.

It's the injuries that worry me the most.

Got half a squad dead again from the shirecliffe sniper.

Think we’ve made a good start! Just on my way back, thought we played well today and on another day we win easily. Poor Ref, draw possibly the fair result. We’ve played two of the teams fancied to go up away from home, albeit we only have one point to show for it but I think the positives out way the negatives.

I agree it is too early to start panicking but we are not a normal run of the mill side just happy to get an away point here and there as some fans seem happy with, we desperately need to go up this season, it’s this season or never for me, you don’t go up getting the odd point away from home, you go up by beating inferior teams away from home. You can still have a go at the manager, players, performance on a match day and still think it’s early days in the season and no need to panic just yet. Having the opinion that it was clearly two points dropped today does not make you think the season is over.

Hecky has to wise up though quick sharp.

Sharp injured his ankle they strapped it but he was still limping , Hecky says "Fingers crossed Bill’s not too bad but we won’t know until he settles down."
Another one bites the dust.

Agree - think Hecky will play Fleck on the right side of Midfield and Norwood on the left

I believe we've only ever won at the Riverside once. Terrible conditions and we played 3 days ago.

Not sure when we lost Clark, but given we had to play RND and Lowe at the back a draw is a good result. Anel looked good again.

An according to some, we should have had a penalty and that goal shouldn't have been allowed, so 4-2 win. But still clueless and terrible. 🥱

Good result that, and everything to play for. We're 9th and biting at the heels of playoff.⚔️
If our bedwetters are out in force after that result, then boro's forum will be in meltdown after that own goal.

Solid performance that. Their goals and our second were both good work on the attacking side and poor defensively

Good game all round and the ref, apart from a couple of decisions which could’ve gone either way, let the game flow
This is the new directive though isn’t it, as per the referees association. All refs have been instructed to allow more physical contact, as they feel that the game has become stupid…. Which was the right decision for once.

The response however from players of both teams, was to hound the referee to book players….this needs to stop.

For me personally, I think marriner is a bit off pace and mesh when it comes to making decisions. It wasn’t his worse game, but wasn’t without fault today either.

Bedwetters? Not seen anyone slag the performance off, we played well, well enough that we should have won the game imo. Do you think we deserved a point or do you think with slightly different tactics or substitutions late on we could have got taken 3 points? I think we should have took all 3 points. Is this bedwetting?

should have won today ...both of Boros goals were jsloppy

but we were the better side which is what matters
a point at bori is better than we normally get there

Not sure what to make of that, some good stuff, some not so good stuff. Played well at times but could have easily lost that near the end.

Did anybody see that young blade faint on the way to the ground, proper hit his head, luckily he was with his mum and some first aiders were nearby. Had Shaw on his blades kit, if anybody on here knows him, I'd like to know he was alright?

Can we please stop using the phrase bed wetting, all blade's on the forum have an opinion, whether it right or wrong. I think we have used our substitutes wrong and should have won the game. Does that make me a bed wetter no 🤔
That’s a fair response, but there are some genuine ones!

I think the signs are really encouraging.

Foderingham is proving it wasn't just a purple patch last season. He looks a really solid and capable Championship goalkeeper.

Anel & Clark have taken to the team really well. If Clark played today then I think we win the match.
Having said that, RND deputised for him really well and he looks much improved this season.

Berge & Ndiaye are our point of difference. Two players that walk into every other side in the division. Imperative that we keep hold of them both.

Brewster and Sharp look like they have returned from their injuries the same players. Once they get off the mark they should hopefully kick on.
Brewster is a source of real encouragement. Great workrate and movement.

We still haven't seen McAtee, Khadra and Doyle, presumably not quite up to speed yet. They will add a lot.

There are negatives. Our wing backs still aren't doing enough in the final third. Jones & Giles showed today what we are missing. Players making those runs beyond the pass, looking at firing dangerous balls across the six yard box.

Norwood and Fleck aren't controlling games. Their set pieces are atrocious.

We look vulnerable defending set pieces.
As good as Anel is, he doesn't look like an aerially dominant centre half and Egan was nowhere near either of the goals today.
Same bloke scoring whilst totally unmarked in the middle of the six yard box.
This isn't good enough.

But, we look comfortable in our shape.
We have more quality than most teams in the league and we will win more than we lose. Khadra and McAtee should only contribute further to this.

Tactically, Heckingbottom needs to be a bit more positive and proactive with his substitutions and we need to find more than one way / shape to win games of football.
We don't look like we can change things. It can't always be 3-5-2, we have to be able to change shape and throw some extra bodies forward.
One thing I miss from the Wilder era was how aggressive he would be when we needed a goal. For the gaming nerds, it was almost like going into ultra-attacking mode on FIFA. Ball goes wide and half a dozen blokes charge into the box, you play the odds that it might drop to one of your players.

It looks like we have the tools for the job. We just need to maintain them a bit better (the injuries are killing us) and utilise them more cleverly during games.
When we go 2-1 up, let's go for a third if we're dominating. Let's recognise how good we are and take it to the rest of the league.

Most haven't criticised the point away from home. Everyone knows it's a good point and would have taken it at the start of the day.

What has frustrated folk is that we threw away two points and once again made no changes to try to keep the victory, other than the baffling substitute of McBurnie coming on. It's three games in and Norwood has produced one good performance and has been bang aversge to poor and ineffective in the other two, and Fleck has produced 45 minutes of good football in the same three matches. As per usual those two start and we have Doyle, Khedra and McAtee on the bench with lame excuses every week as to why we're not seeing them in the team.

The result is fine. It's the lack of tactics, lack of plan B, predictable same old line up comprising of Hecky's favourites and an inability to make key changes in matches that's the issue. Problems which were around last season when we were good one week, garbage the next. Hecky is not a match day manager. He's a training ground coach. Pure and simple. He's too loyal to certain players and not ruthless enough to drop them or give them a hiding. They can be as average or crap as they like and they'll still get picked the next week regardless.

It's early doors and there have been some positives along the way already, but for me, I can't see us going up under Hecky as he is tactically clueless.

Good points. It frustrates me that when we go two one up we immediately stopped doing what we were doing well (not that I want to bring negativity into my positive threat!)
