The Players aren't happy

At least we got rid of Wilder though. He was rubbish! Players must be so relieved he's gone which is why they all look utterly miserable
Behaving like children. I'm sure we've all had really good managers at work that end up going off elsewhere, someone new comes in and it's a bit different, but you know, as a functioning adult human, you just get on with it instead of downing tools and getting the monk on

The body language certainly wasn’t good and players were definitely frustrated to what extent that’s frustration with the manager isn’t clear yet it’s not like we’ve seen a bust up or had one reported.

It’s clear heads have dropped but I could easily be frustration with themselves and with each other because whether they are frustrated with the set up and plan or not whatever the plan was today they certainly didn’t execute it and as professionals they should be frustrated by that because they’ve let themselves down today and most didn’t look like footballers. It would also be understandable if senior players within the squad are frustrated by the transfer business or lack there of done so far to date players like Campbell, O’Hare, Hamer, Burrows, Cooper and Bindon would’ve rightly expected to compete this year and due to the transfer activities of the club they’ve been out in a position so far where they aren’t really able to do that.

The club feels like it needs a catalyst at the moment the players look dejected and Selles is appearing much more strained than he did in the summer.

For me first and foremost the board need to be the ones to try and provide the spark for turning this around in the form of signings. Now that’s not going to be the be all and end all answer to everything but getting some quality players through the door and soon would go a long way to lifting the fan base, the players and hopefully the manager and hopefully start some positive momentum around the club and then who knows.

They don't appear to enjoy the system
They don't appear to enjoy the style of football.
They don't appear to enjoy Selles.

I know it's only 2 games in, but the question is, how long do we give it before accepting we got it wrong bringing Selles in and that change is needed.

I think giving them a public bollocking out on the pitch is a questionable way to man manage. It certainly didn't lead to any uptick in Hull's performances when Phil Brown did it.

No players like losing games, regardless of whether they like the manager or the system or not, they looked happy in preseason because we were winning in preseason.

No squad should be reliant on Jack Robinson alone for leadership
Problem is, when your captain and someone who is supposed to be a leader wants to leave, it will likely be creating a bad feeling in the dressing room, and the longer he's here the worse it's going to get.

If that is the case, the second a new CB (Thomas, Zatterstrom, Mepham etc) is signed, Robbo should be out of door, even if it still leaves us light at CB against Millwall.

It's a poor example to be setting to the rest of the players, especially the younger ones who look to the older players (especially the Captain) for support/advice etc.

Ye but if your really good manager gets sacked for no reason you probably aren't going to be happy. They haven't downed tools at all

Wilder. I'm a Blades fan not a Chris Wilder fan and I'm sick of the moronic trend on this board where anyone dating to question the sacking of Wilder is labelled a "bedwetter". Fucking hilarious. Not. Boring. Certainly. But, right now, there's no one I'd rather have in charge of our club than Wilder. He's not perfect (as we all know) but he wouldn't put up with this shit. And I reckon that's precisely why he's no longer our manager. He probably told our ghost owners to stick their AI up their arse. Sack the guy who finished third... appoint the guy (with zero track record of success) who finished 4th bottom. What would AI tell us to expect? My early post (written in anger) read as though I was pointing primarily at Selles. I genuinely have nothing against the lad but he needs the sort backing that the owners banked on him not demanding... in the way that Wilder would. The problem lies with COH not Selles. He's the fall guy. We've been sold to a gang of chances.

Nor when Widler did it last year post Plymouth

Well said Sir

If we don't let Selles get his own players in

Selles employs zero players personally, and that should always be the case. You bring players in to improve the club, not to kick the head coaches P45 down the road

Problem Selles has is he took over a Wilder team.
You could see all last season most of the players weren’t great.
If Selles had been backed properly and we hadn’t sold Souza and Anel we would be in a lot better position.

Cooper
RB needed. Bindon. Anel( but sold) Burrows

Soumere Souza ( but sold)

Ohare Hamer Barry

Campbell

We need a DM, RB , CD before the window shuts.

I know they aren't his own players but I think u know what I mean, players that he's chosen rather than inherited, and also just to confirm if someone asks you to "tell me in your own words" they don't expect you to have your own language they are fully expecting you to use the English language but words that you chose rather than being dictated what to say

They’re professional footballers who are paid handsomely to kick a ball around.
They’re professional footballers that should have the nous to learn new systems and tactics.
They’re professional footballers who are paid to play football. Not make friends.
If it involves any of them kicking with both feet we’re in deep shit.

We played terrible under wilder only difference between selles and wilder is wilder got away with it
to a certain point i agree it was our defence with souttar and anel at centre back that stopped us losing more games instead of sneaking 1 - 0 wins think the warning signs were there last season
