Hiya

We (DEM Blades crew) have started a new little project called The Pinch.

The Pinch is a subscription newsletter (free or paid) that wouldn't be here without this forum. Reson being...my blog from yonks ago grew from the feedback, support and ambivalence of many on here, and transmogrified into the DEM Blades fanzine. Whilst the fanzine isn't disappearing, we're now starting an online number with weekly articles sent directly to email inboxes.

Some great writers and familiar names on our roster. And we're paying all writers for their work.

The whole idea is to create an ad-free, clickbait-free world of Blades content away from social media. A sustainable alternative to adful, clickbaitful content. Where the hard work of creative people actually gets rewarded.

Would be interested to know what type of content themes you’d be interested in? Would like to have a speculative crack at contributing something in the future. I used to do regular stuff for thebladesonline.com many moons ago.

In my defence, it's the second question I ask everyone I meet after "would you like to buy a copy of this marvellous fanzine?".

And as conspiracies rage, I should take the opportunity to confirm that 'The Pinch' is so named for his handle.

They had their name on front of Flashing Blade until their silent demise, never understood why it all went to pot.

What sort of stuff did you do for Flashing Blade? Were you a regular? I had just the one piece published.

Over the years I did several pieces, a few included in Blades Tales 1 & 2.
Various stuff from personal experience, some critical, some mere comment.
Even did one about Miners strike and Sufc's attitude towards fans who were striking miners (bearing in mind our chairman at the time).

I've got all the stuff I did saved and sometimes think, why the f did I write that!
