That Chris Wilder will return to the Blades at some future date as manager. Firmly believe it.

In early May 2016 my mate and I were sitting out side the Rising Sun in Fulwood enjoying a pint or several. It was early afternoon. A couple walked towards us. One, a tall attractive woman, and the other a shorter guy with a familiar face.

They went into the pub, then emerged and sat on the next table. Having seen Chris play during both his periods with the Blades I recognised him and asked if he was Chris Wilder to which he replied no, he was his brother, but people always get him mixed up. The girl he was with then kicked him under the table and said of course he's Chris Wilder he's just winding you up. I congratulated him on the promotion achieved at Northampton and asked him what he would do if the Blades came calling. He said the club was rotten from top to bottom and if they asked, his response would be a simple two word reply and one of the words would be "off".

Two weeks later he's paraded in front of the media having accepted the job! In 10 minutes the twat had told me 2 bare-faced lies!

Never mind, we had a bloody good run. God Bless him and all who sail in him. Or summat, but I will remind the forked-tongued twat over a beer next time I see him.

Top man, had some great times, sad if it's ending, but we all move on. Thanks for the memories (up to last Summer) and Up The Blades!

He leaves to get some more Peroni and comes back to share it with us all.

Nether Green, not Fulwood. Physician heal thyself.

Sheffield Star 2035

After a successful stint taking Newcastle to Cup and European glory, and leading England to quarter finals of the Euros, Chris Wilder has been tempted out of retirement and returns to the Bramall Lane dugout.

Sheffield United have been without a manager since Head Coach Davy Gysbrechts was sacked following the Blades’ shock November defeat to Rochdale in the first round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. A few days later, Director of Football Jim Phipps was also relieved of his duties.

Since rumours emerged linking the 70 year old veteran to his boyhood club, a number of former players have expressed doubt about him managing again at League One level. However when Wilder was a special guest at a Supporter’s Club fundraiser for repairs to the Shirecliffe Training Ground Roof, it became apparent a deal could be on the cards.

Key stats:-
  • 13 - Number of SUFC managers since Wilder departed in 2021
  • 4 - Number of months Van Winkel had in charge of SUFC (July 2021-November 2021) - the shortest managerial stint in Blades history
  • 2 - Number of trophies won by SUFC since 2021 (2023/24 League One title under Brian Deane; 2028/29 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy under Billy Sharp)

Could see it happen after the parachute payments run out and the Prince exits stage left.

Another option that no one has considered is that Wilder is heading to Sweden to undergo an operation and will return as Christine Wilder and all this is just paperwork.
God yeah, United we stand series of 1991? Sam, Samantha and err hello Sam. The gender re-alignment specialist must have made a packet there.

What a load of BS.

Who's ever heard of sitting at a pub enjoying a pint?

Total make believe.
