Ooooh, it's Official, is it? Do Foxy and Linz know?;)

We will be somewhere in the top eight. Where's my option for that? My Official option, of course. :D
 
5th. We'll have our good games but our inconsistency makes 2nd place a pipe dream.
 
It's best not to guess anything with The Blades.
 
Think it's a play off final defeat again this year. Feels similar to other seasons like the burnley and Huddersfield finals where we are struggling to score goals.
Might change my opinion if we get some momentum and the new players hit the ground running but I do think we need to improve or get players in that can attack and defend corners and free kicks cause that's where games get decided x

Stats men. Official, when did we last score direct from a corner in the league?

No seriously. Doesn't have to be a bullet header. Could be one that looped in, a tap in, in off the bum. Just direct from the corner like the ones that McGuire, Collins, et al scored last year?

People get far too excited for corners, the average conversion rate is around 3%. People moan about not beating the first man but so many people can't, even the top players. The loud cheer after winning a corner is really uncalled for.

We've scored 13 goals in the last 6 league games.

under Clough we always score 3 at Wembley :p

And our lack of a goal getting striker was part of that problem. Provided he stays fit, then the purchase of done has solved that issue.

Also Murphy is looking far more dangerous these days.
 
4th for me, reckon one team is going to be very shaky and we will have some consistency. I would take play offs and good form, if we scored 3 at wembley I am fully optimistic we can finally win a play off final.

100% agree hopefully that's the case especially as I have backed done to be top goalscorer.
Just the guy feeling and with the last two play off finals makes me think some kind of striker crisis will happen.
Let's hope we don't bring in Craig Beattie on an emergency loan haha x

I'm not getting too excited. I'm not moaning about beating the first man. I just wondered if anyone could tell me when we last scored direct from a corner - like Preston did at the Lane a couple of weeks back?

Am I the only one not getting excited by the entire corner/set piece conversion thing. We don't play in a way that builds from set pieces unlike many previous managers. We generally are a good counter attacking side. This relies on pace and quick passing in that initial stage when you win the ball off the opposition (usually in your own half). Might explain why things are as they are. I have no issue with us not hoiking a ball into the box in the vain hope that we might win a header and the ball might drop to one of our men close enough to stick it in the net.
