The Return of Neil Warnock YES or NO

Oh Dear no!

Warnock shouldn't have been given another season to try to get us back up. He wasn't given that opportunity and that's disappointing, but that was NINE years ago. Neil's a firefighter of a manager these days, a short-term troubleshooter and he's good at it, but he's no more the future of SUFC than Conor Sammon.

isn't this what we've tried doing 3/4 times since relegation? Be ludicrous to suggest another squad overhaul, do you know how much money that costs? to pay off the players and move them on. Get him in, sign 3/4 players and watch him get out of the players what nobody has seen before.

It doesn't cost anything to release players whose contracts are up, which is about 12 of them!

If we must have the annual sacking, and Warnock was in it for the long haul, I'd be in favour. In doing this we'd basically be acknowledging that as a board and supporter base we are unable to build a long term plan and ethos to get the club through the divisions. We'd be going backwards in order to go forwards in many ways. We'd have a short term play style and recruitment strategy etc.

Given our plight - lack of leadership, lack of motivation, lack of team spirit and given what he has achieved elsewhere - even currently at a higher level, I am a bit shocked there are so many people who wouldn't have him back? Are you mad?

I'm not convinced he'd actually be able to sort this all out, and it's a very different job now to when he was first here. He's got an extremely flexible arrangement at Rotherham, essentially working 3 days a week and commuting from Cornwall, whilst able to continue his radio show while Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson do everything else when he's not around. Would we be prepared to have that sort of part-time manager arrangement?

On Sheffield Amateur Hour (aka "Sheffield Live!"), he mentioned the need to have someone like Dooley adding some footballing knowledge for the board. If he wants to actually retire from management, perhaps that sort of part-time advisory role might appeal to him. In terms of footballing knowledge out of the current board, McCabe is a country mile ahead of any other board member. And given his monumental errors on the footballing side of things in recent years, that's a very worrying thought.

People need to realise he isn't coming back and realise that we keep employing managers and then sacking them but going backwards. Stop blaming the managers and aim your disgust at people like McCabe because it is wholly their fault we are in this mess.

We are a rotten club and a graveyard for managerial careers. McCabe at the club means we will keep sliding backward because any decent player will be sold and replaced with cheap dross.

I'm less certain now about this next bit but Adkins needs another season at this. Clear out the trash and get his own team in. This is a gamble I'll grant you but in my mind he is a good manager. He has made mistakes this season but I would give him another transfer window to sort it. If we start badly next season it's bye bye. You have to give him the opportunity to build otherwise we end up back where we were the season before, and the one before that etc etc.

43 Yes
44 No

It's on a knife edge.

If he came in tomorrow would we win all our remaining games and go up?

You'd better believe it.

Sounds similar to the loan arrangement we had with Paddy McCarthy.

We were daft enough to have that arrangement so knowing us we would take a manager that is part time as well.

Is it any bigger gamble than sacking him and appointing someone else? I doubt it. At least he understands the size of the task and now knows the players inside out. Someone needs to make decisions on players like Coutts who will be out of contract at the end of next season. We can't have another season with first team players running their contracts down knowing they're leaving at the end of the year.

Oh come on you're talking shit now. You are guessing and building drama that doesn't exist. At least deal in facts rather than voices in your head.

I think it is the way forward but I can also see why others don't.

No he is an egotistical big nosed big headed bastard who lives in Wurzel land and to listen to his drivel he is a self made man who owes it all to himself. Will all the Warnock supporters be clamouring for his return when Rotherham get relegated? And don't give me all that shit about track records we have a clown with a track record in charge now plus Dave Bassett also has a track record so why isn't he named in the poll? Time for people to get real changing the managers is just swapping the deck chairs on the Titanic and dancing to McCabe's agenda of not me guv I'm a massive blade. 9 years of decline and still counting, time to do us all a favour and fuck off McCabe.

Ah, the magic of the FA Cup! I remember a particularly "It's all about me", Warnock story about how, as a short trousered lad in Frecheville, he stood and watched all the Norwich charabancs drive past to the Lane. Typical Warnock sentimental made up shite.

He is not the answer.

He is enjoying the attention (what's new).

He is not coming back.

Have another poll. Have a dozen.

He's still NOT coming back.
