Like many others I was absolutely made up when we appointed Adkins, but his style and his thoughts with the positivity and false sense of togetherness really is becoming quite brain numbing. We're nowhere near the top 6, the top 2 is a comical distance away and it really is not acceptable just how exactly he has missed out on vital additions to the team. For example, it has been evident for over 18 months we needed a new goalkeeper, and the back-up one simply wasn't good enough, tried, tested and not good enough over and over. So why haven't we signed a goalkeeper? Ended up with the backup keeper week in week out and he's crap. Lee Camp signed for Rotherham initially as a backup, when a free agent, you're not telling me they're paying him out of our reach as a backup, and he wouldn't of come here as first choice.

I feel like Adkins has massively underestimated the job he had, and is quite frankly insulting when we hear his constant "stay behind the team" "were all in this together" because quite honestly Nigel the fans are so so sick of being fed the same bullshit all year.

Simply inept, in terms of loan and permanent incomings, and you can't blame the board they've supported him (to an extent). But he simply has held out for yet more players who're not good enough for the championship and just thought oh they're bound to be good enough for this league. Examples of poor recruitment who won't of been cheap players, we'll be paying most if not all of their wages after all - Baptiste, Edgar. Yes we have players who shouldn't be at the club, who're stealing a living but there's 10-16 players who other managers have previously got much much better results from, so how long is it before its actually his fault and not the previous managers.

I think it really is time, for a manager to come in who knows this club inside out, knows what it takes to rally the supporters, and will inject a sense of pride and passion into this beautiful and f*cking massively underachieving football club.

Step forward Sir Neil, you have everything that it takes, and on Sheffield Live tonight said he couldn't write off a come back.

Yes we'll still lose games, and yes he's got his faults but at least we know we'd be going down with a fight, whether its sending Paul Shaw to have a word with the linesman or looking after Paddy Kenny like his own child, we know he'd give this a real f*cking go.

It's a yes from me, he has the motivational skills to inspire & drive players to achieve extraordinary performance levels.

He's not perfect, who is, but given our current predicament he's one of the few managers who I would trust to get us out of this mess - short term contract with performance related clauses inserted into his contract should do it.

No, no and thrice no. It took him six years and about 5,000 signings last time. We've been over this dozens of times.

Our players' problem is a lack of ability rather than lack of effort.

And before anyone suggests he "move upstairs" that would be an absolute disaster. He signs players that he gets on with. He'd be no good signing players for another manager.

I would have him back tomorrow.

It's never going to happen though sadly.

"Our players' problem is a lack of ability rather than lack of effort" - i'm sorry but you're way wide of the mark there.

Absolutely nuts to consider this.

We have spoken about how we need to scrap the whole of the current squad and start again. Warnock is in absolutely no way a 'builder' of clubs. He is perfect to come in for the last 3/4 months of a season to rouse the team and fans.

We need a long term plan, short term thinking is precisely what has got us into this mess. I would be furious if we got Warnock back.

He spent 7 years at the club and was never fully accepted and appreciated by the fans. Always 2 defeats away from a 'Warnock Out' chant, and he noticed this himself.

When he left, there was no mourning from the fans, no candlelit vigils or moments of silence. He slipped away without a single voice of protest from anyone.

Only now when things are exponentially worse is he being touted as the clubs one true saviour on a daily basis.
Give him one fruitless season in charge and the knives would be out for him like they have been for everyone else who ever managed us.
We only like our managers in hindsight.

If I was Neil Warnock I'd tell us to fuck right off quite frankly.

He is in his late 60s, is only at Rotherham a couple of days a week, and last time it took him 7 years to get us promoted. Let's not forget that he had his contract debacle last time which caused him such a distraction he admitted himself he couldn't get the side motivated enough to stay up against Wigan,

A big fat no, he is yesterday's man, and I've never forgiven him for what he did.

We want tomorrow's man, not yesterday's man, and that is Chrissy Wilder.

I will personally, drive to Cornwall and pick him up in the summer. The best deal we could get by far.
If the "we need to play purist football" tossers had kept their mouths shut, after the Wigan defeat and Warnock had been kept on, it would now be oh so different.........instead we had Robson, Weir, Clough, Blackwell ( who is a good coach but never a manager), Wilson and now Adkins who I think the title given to him recently (Comical Ali) fits.
Neil name your price!

isn't this what we've tried doing 3/4 times since relegation? Be ludicrous to suggest another squad overhaul, do you know how much money that costs? to pay off the players and move them on. Get him in, sign 3/4 players and watch him get out of the players what nobody has seen before.

I am in the no camp .

You are absolutely correct Tyler . However Warnock has a point to prove not to himself but to McCabe . He would love nothing more than getting a phone call from McCabe asking for his help . If McCabe said please in the conversation , i think Warnock would seriously consider it .

Big mistake so it will never happen . They perhaps would finish up telling each other to fuck off in the love hate relationship they seem to have with each other. . ( fans included )

That ship has sailed long ago. To be perfectly honest he is probably more suited to Rotherham than he ever was to us. . . . . . We always dump too much expectation on our manager's shoulders and Neil simply don't need that shit at his time of life.

I totally agree, Warnock would be very satisfied if McCabe came crawling back. But then he'd have to consider the reality of having to work with the bloke after that phone call.

The truth is, Warnock shat on us and the fans shat on him. It was never a Bill Shankly/Liverpool relationship. Nostalgia plays funny tricks.

We talk about proven managers hes done that and guess what it worked.get warnock or it will be another 10 years with rubbish to manage our players.

Rob Kozluck at tonights event with him and Michael Brown

Koz: While the cameras are rolling, I have to say that Neil Warnock was the best manager I've ever had

To be fair, the only other manager to give Kozzy more than 20 games in his entire career was Simon Davey at Barnsley so Warnock isn't exactly up against the likes of Mourinho or Ferguson Snr.

All this about taking him 7 years last time... WE'RE IN LEAGUE ONE NOW.

Warnock would love that phone call, he would probably tell McCabe to fuck off, then he could tell all and sundry that McCabe begged him to come back, and that he took the upper hand and told him to fuck off.

With League One (at a push, looking at some of them) players and a League One budget to work with...

We always have one of the biggest budgets. League One is below Warnock's level. He knows how to use our support to our advantage, unlike every other manager we've had.
