Incoming!! Ross Barkley released. Someone will post him as a suggestion and others will say no thanks to a 29 year old with 250 Premier League appearances, Champions League experience and 30 add England caps. Sooner give Fleck a new contract or give Coulibaly a chance 🙃
He'll want to be our highest paid player. He's garbage defensively.

No thanks

I've a vague memory of watching a young Ross Barkley run the midfield for Wednesday once about 10 years ago.

Why wouldn't he be highest paid? Do we have anyone else that has played at the level he has? Phil Jagielka was our highest paid player the last time in the Prem at 38!!

You've not watched Sander Berge defending have you?

He's done nothing for years. Paying for past performance is what got us into this financial mess

Never judge players before playing for us. The less known usually do best. Its a teamgame. Bad looking players also can gel.

I can remember Billy Sharp being a member of this club when he was 18.
By Christmas he had scored something like 15 goals for the academy and got moved up to the reserves, where he kept banging them in. He then went on loan to relegation threatened Rushden and Diamonds, scoring 9 goals in 16 games and saving them from relegation. He was a goal machine but Warnock didn't rate him and sold him to Scunthorpe for pocket change.

Our strike force at that time was Andy Gray, Ashley Ward, Danny Cadamateri, David Johnson (loan), Steve Kabba (injured), Danny Webber (loan), Luke Beckett and Tommy Johnson. There was a rumour that Warnock would sign 10 strikers and hope one of them would turn out good.

Emerging from the pack, and powering hard off the final bend as a late contender for the "Not Good Enough for Us" gold medal of Summer 2023 ... go on my son, Divock Origi.
