You know, someone once asked Leonardo Da Vinci why he was such a great sculptor. "I'm not", Leonardo replied, "I just release the sculpture which was always inside the stone"
You mean higden ate this great player ?Trouble is we want the footballer inside Higdon to come out.
They might not have been good enough when we were going for the premiership, were in league one, and playing like bobarr, so that player who wasn't gonna make it might seem like the one that got away..
We've dropped to his level, although his level won't be the same as ours soon by the look of things.
Another one for this list - Leon Britton.
Interestingly who cried out and said we were losing a brilliant player when he left?

Traianos Dellas.
I liked him too but as a defender he was an excellent sweeper but not many English teams played the sweeper system in those years. He struggled as a centre back in the English flat back 4 system so we played him in midfieldI always thought Dellas was a great player and never wanted him to leave
He was too good for us

It was scored at the Kop End v PompeyAnd up front occasionally
Remember a pile driver he scored at the Lane End joked about if the keeper had got behind it he would have ended up in the Cricketers

Unfortunately the club decided against having the 1998-99 season video cos they thought it wouldnt sell wellIndeed it was. Someone posted about best goals the other day and this would easily be in my top 3. I know it was filmed but can't find it anywhere on You Tube. I don't suppose anyone has it?? Would love to see it again.
