I do wonder if now is the time that their fans question themselves and their life choices.
Supporting United could be good, try it, admit they were wrong, repent !
It’s not too late to change and nobody would blame them.

Let’s be honest here, there’s really only a small handful of one club cities with clubs who are markedly bigger than SUFC. Most are similar in size or possibly smaller. Maybe they might have a slight advantage for set piece games like finals and semi finals where they can mobilise a whole city when they need more casual fans…But our crowd averages will stand up against anyone’s in this league next season.

I had a dig into this. It's not particularly easy to find accurate population stats as some sources use metropolitan areas while others use the more defined city boundaries.

In short, Leeds is the only one-club city bigger than Sheffield. Newcastle's population is less than half of Sheffield's so the proportions are similar. Same goes for Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham and Bristol as two-club cities; only Birmingham really stands out with two clubs and a population of a million.

One club cities that have a much bigger support than SUFC are Leeds (understandably) Newcastle and Sunderland who both enjoy a huge catchment area between them. Other one club cities who could feasibly argue they have a bigger support than us are maybe Derby, Middlesbrough, Leicester and maybe Norwich (with a bigger stadium)….But these claims would be seen as quite subjective.

I've too many family and friends who love Wednesday to want to see them go out of existence.
United were with me when I was a single man, when my first real love broke up and through my marriage break up.
A football club is part of our very existence.
Who'd want to be a one club city and never understand things like "Bouncing day",Hull beating them at Wembley,Andy Linighan's goal, the Sheffield double.
I'd rather have us both in the Premier League them struggling and us winning loads.

Long may the two Sheffield clubs exist.

We’d still have bouncing day and Hull would still have beaten them even if they don’t exist anymore.

Your friends and family will find something more interesting to do with their spare time, like sticking their bollocks in a vice or summat.

Fuck em I say.
