It's arrived, the start of the new season. Eagerly anticipated by so many fans of each club in the Football League as well as us Blades.
As usual with our supporters, debates have been held, comments have been made and toys have gone out of the pram over the players we've signed, the player we've sold and the pre-season games we've played. Nevertheless, our main target is getting out of this League, this will be our bread and butter stuff for the next nine months and it starts today at 12.15.
Whether you agreed or not with selling Harry, the disappointment of not landing Brayford or Coady, whether you're questioning the signings made by Cloughie and the formation and tactics that he'll use until next May, you can guarantee it won't be dull. That was last season under David Weir.
Whether you go to the games or not, if you're a season ticket holder or go a couple of times a year, whether you live on Shoreham Street or the other side of the world, as Blades we all want success for Sheffield United.
The man in charge performed spectacularly last season, turning round the fortunes of a slowly suffocating club to get us within a hairs breadth of a play off place and giving us great memories of a never to be forgotten FA Cup run. Be patient and trust the bloke, he'll get us there.
New kit provider, new shirt sponsors, sold out away game already next Saturday, a 20k gate for the first game today and a nailed on fabulous support for the rest of the season if we do well.
It's all in place, all the players and management have to do is deliver on the pitch and I believe they will. It's our season. Enjoy it.
