disappointing number of efforts on goal, need to play into Leon more...

Sky commentary is so biased! Apparently with 62% possession we are not in the game. And the fact that most of their defence were yellow carded in the first half to keep us out is ignored. They are now playing the boring Bundesliga style but it's "great" . C'mon let's av'em.

Typical sort of shit game you often get with derbys. Thought it would be like that with them setting up to frustrate and that's what we have struggled with all season

Still we would have taken 4 points off then at the start of the season. They wouldn't have. I'm glad it's over .

One of the worst derbies in the history of man.

We were extremely poor. Slow, lethargic, telegraphing everything we're going to do. Strikers weren't given a sniff. I'm fed up with our Arsenalling around the box. Obvious slow passing and no one will take a chance or have a go.

The only time we worried them was when Fleck had a run. We missed Brooks. He was instrumental in the first game. His willingness to run at them scared the crap out of them. They nullified Duffy and we had nothing else.

All teams have to do to nullify us is to match our formation and sit back. We're clueless about how to break them down. I thought Wilder was poor. I know we have 3 new players on the bench but against 10 men we had to try something different. We just kept doing the same thing over and over again.

And don't even mention our inability to stop players shoot from outside the box. We back off and back off and wait for a wonder goal, keeper error or a lucky ricochet to happen.Or our corners. Fuck me, how bad are our corners?

Credit to Wednesday though and their new manager. They did a job on us and looked more likely to nick something. It wasn't pretty but neither were we.

Still, I'd have taken a point beforehand, so it's not the worst result in the world.

Also backed us to finish Top 6 and for Promotion.

What a Transfer Window. I am filling up my Senses and my bank balance!????????????????????????????? Thing is I never backed United for years and years before that lad from Stocksbridge came back, bless him. I now believe anything is possible. Look at S6 right now, they are in disarray, in no small part due to Sir Chris Wilder, Knight of the Realm of S2.

Lost most of my small gambling pocket money. Load of balls frankly. Promotion. who knows, don't bet on it like me!!

Totally agree, we either dicked around with short ones or failed to put the ball anywhere that was likely to hurt them - ditto with free kicks. Most disappointing element of the game for me.

Frustrating 0-0, im not sure what is frustrating me more knowing that wednesday were beatable. I cant remember i ever seen a wednesday side come attack so little or that its was like bolton dejavu. we overplayed & tried to be over perfect in final 1/3rd. Like arsenal at their worst & dare i say it we are creeping into a more gung ho version of David Weir. Then final ball when it happened wasnt good enough most of the time corner & free kick to wednesday head. Also why on earth Clarke went for low cross with head instead of his feet i dont know

feel for billy sharp because you know more than anything he would want to captain us & even score in a Sheffield derby irs boyhood dream stuff. but unfortunately there is no sentiment in football & now injured in 1st not selected in 2nd. Which i was highly surprised about. Thought coming off bench was a cert

Hertha berlin boards werent wrong that i found. They said he was a defensive manager but still surprised at lack of ambition from luhukay, only wilder wanted to win that game. They came with 1 aim to frustrate 10 men (later 9) behind the ball keeping the point they had & did a good job of parking the bus. For majority they didnt want to win because bar 1 miles wide in 1st half, 51st min & 88th min. Cant think when they got near our box & reserves my arse spent Rhodes who i forgot he playing til he was subbed & reach were 15m on there own

Nothing to fear here. Virtually their entire first team is out. We win big.

Dont fall for piglies, half of the team that played last nite played in both the play off semi finals against Huddersfield, oops i mentioned Huddersfield

We always knew they were gonna sit deep & play to to the break ala Brum , Brizzle and all other visitors post October to The Lane .

I think nerves got the better of a few last night and they too often took the safe easy pass option ( Fleck been the exception ) rather than try and beat their man which is what you have to do to create space when a side sits deep .

I thought second half we should have poss gone 442 , they were offering very little going forward other than a hoof up to Joao , I think it would have given us more width in terms of overlaps and for once a decent ball into the box from wide for the forwards to feed off , on the only 2 occasions we did it we nearly & should have scored through Donaldson & Clarke .

Thought the game was crying out for Nathan Thomas , a winger who can beat a man and deliver from wide but sadly he didn’t even make the bench , Baldock & Stevens too often turned back on themselves last night and too often the balls in from deeper from didn’t clear the first man

I think most who will visit us now will follow the same model , if the Holmes transfer goes through that will also give us more options as he’s got an eye for goal from distance , it’s a pity we’ve missed out on Ryan Kent as he has pace & delivery from wide , but there’s still 2 weeks left in the transfer window so let’s watch this space.

Frustrating night that feels like a missed derby double opportunity , but I expected it , but if you would have said we’d take 4 points off the grunters in August I and most would have snatched your hand off .
Keep up the good work lads we’re still work in progress but going in the right direction.

My morning-after thoughts (with a slight hangover)...They Bolton'd us. Came for a point, for the most part played negative anti-football and their keeper's timewasting was shocking 2nd half.

That said, to be fair to them they clearly had a plan and executed it well. They got what they came for and are happy with it. Each keeper made one world-class save, otherwise there really weren't many clear-cut chances of note. At full speed in the ground (not seen any replays yet) I thought Loovens was unlucky to get a 2nd yellow, but Wallace should have got a straight red for his assault on Fleck, so them being down to 10 was fair.

There were a couple of times late on where we flashed a ball across the 6 yard box and I think (with the benefit of hindsight) that we were crying out for Billy in those moments...that's where he would have been, to get a foot on one of those and stick one in.

All in all a poor game of football, and I think a lot of Blades are justifiably disappointed. However, they've failed to beat AFC Dog & Duck from the Pub League twice now this season, and been thoroughly smashed by us at their own ground. Our team of bargains, free transfers and "journeymen" has now got 3 points from the runaway leaders, 4 points from the form team who are sat 2nd, and 4 points from the multimillion pound galacticos of the Championship. Onwards and upwards...the 2 clubs in Sheffield are going in opposite directions, and I for one am glad to be supporting the team on the up.

UTB & FTP.

I thought we were bang average. I thought they had the better chances . The shot from Bannen was going in but a good save from Moore. Hope the new signing can step up and bring in something different.

Frustrating;but they came for a point or nick one on the break...I'm glad we kept the back door shut, but i was concerned by our reluctance to close them down around the edge of our box and they did get a few shots in...I do think CW would have been more adventurous 2nd half against different opposition....oh well, onto the next game.
