Disappointed Billys not starting, but are we absolutely sure he’s not got a slight knock or something? Maybe its more a precautionary thing?

Common sense. We play a high tempo pressing game, history shows playing this style is almost impossible to maintain for a full season.

Wilder knows it’s the team that wins matches but it’s the squad that makes a club win leagues.

Billy and McGoldrick get a deserved rest and will come back fresh next week.

I'm not surprised he's mixed it up with 3 games in a week, but I think it's fair to say that is (on paper, at least) one of the weakest line-ups we've fielded in a league game in a while.

Shut up you absolute idiot.

What happens if we don’t ‘must win’? Abandon the season? What a melodramatic, drama queen suggestion.

As you well know, I won’t shut up. I expose and unravel noise and nonsense. It’s my job.

On the bench: strikers with 33 goals

On the pitch: strikers with no goals.

I hope this works, because it looks like a silly decision to me.

The Bladey Bills are showing their true colours, exactly as I knew they would. They’re hoping we lose to punish the manager for not selecting their favourite, even though the reason could scarcely be more obvious.

Is it though? Yes Billy and didzy have been class, but we've got the best part of £15m strikeforce playing here. Yes dowell did well at Lwb but its not his natural position, whereas it is with Johnson. Plus it's the first time he's really played/started with the '1st team' since Birmingham? And if I remember he was one of the better players that day?

The 15 million strike force have not scored s goal this season.

We need one from them today.

Surprising selection I have to say.

Looking forward to seeing Hogan but wasn't expecting it to be at the expense of Sharp.

Its a squad game for sure but there's one or two in the starting 11 who have frankly looked well below what's needed when they've played in recent months.

Then again it's the business end and all about winning. Nice performances with no end product aren't what's needed now.

Scruffy 1-0 with the ball going in off Egan's nob end in the 98th minute is more important than waxing lyrical about 80% possession and drawing 0-0 at this point.

Interesting. I hadn't realised that.

Just thought you were here to spout bollocks.

The fact you get paid though

Where do I apply and send my CV?

;)

Last time I recall, that we made several changes was against Birmingham City. Johnson played that day too, and he didn't look at home at LWB. Decent going forward but suspect defensively. Let's hope its a masterstroke!

Crazy, we have a week to recover after this game, this is probably one of the biggest games of the season so far; opportunity to go top and we play a weakened side, madness....

Wow, I wasn't expecting that team, & while it would be a mistake to take todays opponents lightly I can certainly see why Chris has gone with this selection in regards to resting certain players & coping with injury & suspension. Not sure it makes us weaker though, as individuals the players picked have qualities & I hope collectively they all have their game face on.

With the number of our main players not available due to enforced absences, it’s a big gamble to further the unfamiliar look to the team by then making changes that might not have been necessary. That said, we’ve no idea what the fitness levels of Dowell and Sharp are after their efforts on Wednesday. But it does feel like a gamble.

Billy Sharp scores goals no doubt but after 3 games in 8 games & big game v west brom next week, need to rotate & i have big confidence that we will create chances for hogan to reproduce the brentford form when he was deadly, if not we have fresher sharp for last 20 to terrorise a tired reading defence

Well, it's working so far!

Reading are terrible at the back but credit to Madine.

It just goes to show, competition for places seems to be doing it's trick!

It's a forum and we are all entitled to an opinion but knocking our leaders team selection prior to kick off is asking for trouble....especially against the worst team I've seen in the division the last twice we've played at their place

That's the sort of trouble I'm comfortable with.

We dry bummed them without getting out of second gear. Well done Blades .

Said it last time we played , they have athletes but no footballers.

Thanks for the 6 points you dreary fuckers. Drone football for a drone town ( just in case they have cloned a Roygbiv ).

Suppose that Wilder bloke knows more than we all do? I for one am shocked, SHOCKED.

Reading were very poor. Worst team I've seen this year (Bolton away was close).
