So for the second Saturday afternoon running, another good crowd is expected for the visit of Bolton Wanderers in another top of the table clash. Though last weeks draw was by no means a bad result, the manner of it kind of left many disappointed. So more of the same this week but with an improved result would calm everyone's nerves, and continue our unbeaten run which stands at 4 so far. Exactly the same as Bolton's current run incidentally.......

Anyway....

Any team news? :)

Riley definitely out with a dislocated shoulder - not that we know what we are missing...

Keep the starting line-up unchanged?

Or get EEL back in?

Only other shuffling likely to be on the bench? :)

Of course Bolton have already beaten two Blades XI's this season, though not really convincingly - with us the better side in the first game in particular. Now they'll face a much different side, but we'll have to be wise this afternoon, as Bolton are likely to be very physical in their approach. Of course the 'pond life' looks a nailed on bet to score, but perhaps his own dilusional hype might actually turn against him. Not sure on the ref's history with us or this season, but we need a strong character in charge this afternoon. I really hope a close to full house witness not only a performance like last week but a 4-1 victory to go with it......

That would be EPIC. ;)

Once again I am working so I'll be frantically checking my phone shouting both "YES" and "FFS"

Really looking forward to this...
Travelled over to the UK with the family for this one; the kids think we will lose, me and gert reckon that Wilder and the boys will have been buzzing all week and that victory is assured!
Me and the boy will be stopping off at Twickenham tomorrow for England Italy so hopefully it will be doubles all round...

If any game so far has the look of "season defining" it's this one. Although whatever happens today nothing is sorted my feeling is if we win we will go on to automatic promotion possibly with a couple of games to spare, draw and it is as you were but we can afford very few more slip ups, lose and the season will go to the wire in four horse race for the top two.

I thought we had enough in us to win last week, we were the better team, but on reflection, 1st playing 2nd and it finished in a draw is probably about right. Scunthorpe have been there or thereabouts all season, no "fading away" as some people predicted.

Same for today, 1st vs 3rd, who have also been there or thereabouts all season.

On paper, a tight game.

Hopefully Leeds can make it trebles :)

Pretty amazed that some bookies like Bet365 are giving as high as 5/1 odds on a Bolton win – bonkers for a third placed team that's beaten us twice this season. We should still be favourites, but a Bolton win is hardly as implausible that some are making it out to be.

I reckon we'll nick it 1-0.

If we win I'm going to get rat arsed, if we draw I'm going to get bladdered and if we lose I'm going to get drunk.

So Blades, make this as easy as possible for me.

After having read this forum for a few years I've finally signed up and making my first post. Live in Abu Dhabi so will be listening to the match on bladesplayer.

Don't like predicting scores - just hope we win.

Can't be there today due to work, I'm absolutely gutted, fucking hate weekend shifts!!!!
Good luck tod the lads today, I really hope they can fuckin smash em n rip em a new one this afternoon!!!!
And I hope you all have a brilliant afternoon and get right behind the blades today, and I mean right behind em, so the tip just goes in!!! Get the place pumping and show Bolton what they wish they could be!!!!!
Let's have 3 points boys!!!!!
COYRAWW!!!!

Good to see an unchanged team.

Mark Howard recalled to the Bolton line-up after injury. Hopefully it'll be the version of Howard we saw in his latter days at the Lane, when it felt like he was playing without putting his contact lenses in.

Huge win, BS does it again and a clean sheet, maintained that lead over third place and another game ticked off. Thankfully we don't have to play Fleetwood and they can do use a favour having to play Scunny and Bolton. Hopefully this is the year at long last. Well done CW, AK and the players.

Thought we were a bit flat till the brilliantly-crafted opening goal, and then very good thereafter – second half we were superb and unlike last week started the half well.

Basham, Fleck and Sharp were all excellent. Special mention for the under-appreciated Lafferty, who I thought had one one of his best games for us today.

Thats a Huge 3 pts well deserved, Billy Sharp showing Madine how its done. Despite parkinson chat about big game players. Bolton were never in that match, i expected alot more from them as they hardly tested moore all game & 2-0 but couldve been much more considering the anount chances that we created. Samir Carruthers deserved a goal with that 50yd run that took him past 4 or 5 players

No surprise to me Madine was pulled out for "illness" because phil parkinson was spot on because everyone could see the guy was a walking red card which Parkinson couldnt afford in such a big team
