They make out that they would like the 'ROMANCE' of the FA cup to stay alive. Yet the coverage of this 'ROMANCE' has been crap. from the third round (who created the biggest shock) the rest of it has been rubbish with all the 'little' teams going out. They have taken us for granted. If it was Scunthorpe or such similar it would be all over the media.
One can only assume we are a 'MASSIVE' club in their eyes. Watch out Wendy pigs you're about to lose your status our fan base is about to overtake your 65,000000.

We're in that position of being too big a club for any real cup romance, and being too small to garner any interest to the neutral.

We can whinge and whinge, but ultimately the media will position their stories to the broadest possible audience.

Beat a big Premier club and we'll get headlines. Beat a small Premier club and no one gives a monkeys.

Going back to the OP, isn't it a sort of compliment that, even in our current predicament, we're not seen as a perennial underdog? We are still viewed by many as a 1st/2nd tier club fallen on hard times rather than a Scunthorpe/Rochdale/Carlisle etc.

I know from R3 and visiting Villa Park, the Villa fans I spoke to before the game saw this as a game between "proper" clubs and not some minnow for them to turnover. It was us suggesting we possibly wouldn't put up much of a fight!
I agree, our coverage compared to our acheivements has been poor, but I'm rather glad us beating Forest barely registers on the Richter scale!
