watching it for a third time at the moment 2nd time on sky and cant believe how they got away with some of the fouls, that greasy centre back the argentinian he boots henderson int he back and nothing.
but away from that thought we gave our all last night and i cannot fault that, first half we were easy the better side and second still thought we shaded it.
blackwell still dont think hes the right man for the job, dont really want this man to be spending what money we do have in the january transfer window on players think it would be better someone new coming in and given a chance. Also last night after they scored i think it showed we dont have a plan B and the players heads went straight down, i no warnock wasnt perfect but i never saw united heads go down n give up like they seem to do, having said that they did turn it on for the last five so again well done to them for that.
looks like walker will now be out for the forseable future and morgon is out for the barnsley match where does that leave us, do you think thered be any point in trying to get naughton on a short term loan, he might aswell be playing instead of sat doing nothing.
all in all i am and always will be blade, so up the blades!!!!!

Eeza blade and eeza blade...top post.

Some good comments Spadge but I have to disagree that our heads went straight down in a manner which suggested we gave up. we are talking about humans not robots and when you have put in an excellent 60 minutes to go behind in the manner we did is bound to knock the stuffing out of the side isn't it? Also remeber we weren't playing against a pub side where we can immediately go back an dominate the game. It knocked the stuffing out of me and I hope the players felt the same.

We have come back from goals down plenty of times already this term and I didn't see Warnock sides respond when we really needed it at Villa or in the 2nd half against Wigan.

I'll gladly bash Blackwell for anything including his choice in biscuits, his musical tastes, anything but to say we have a problem when we go behind in terms of spirit - which is what I read into your posts - is I think a little wide of the mark. Don't get me wrong, I think Cotterill should have been on earlier (or started more to the point) and I just cannot get on with Evans but I'm not exactly sure whay you expect him to do - shift to 4 up front or something? Return to pure hoofball?

fair point guess its a bit critical and like i said i cant knock us last night thought we gave everything, problem is with blackwell not as much last night but times befor is when we go one nil down, we seem to go back to the hoof ball tactic granted we didnt do that last night. to be fair i just dont like blackwell and dont think hell take us anywere.

The 1st goal seems crucial under Blackwell, we had that great record last season when we won something like 21 out of 22 games when we scored first (3 wins, 1 draw this season). However, we have conceded first 10 times this season and only recovered to 1 win and 3 draws so there definitely seems to be some of the old battle lacking when we go behind.

great post

i was absolutely mystified how collocini stayed on the pitch for the whole ninety

seemed to be allowed to just go round kicking our players off the ball

could have sworn this is illegal ,i suppose to do it once and the ref not to spot it is understandable but three times ???

Coloccini is the man Spadge ,it seemed whenever a man comes close to him he kicks out at them not hard but enough to let them know he is there.I was surprised that the ref didn't spot this as it happened more than once and seemed to be something that he probably uses as part of his game if seen it would be a sending off offence.

"watching it for a third time at the moment 2nd time on sky and cant believe how they got away with some of the fouls"

Really? They are the Man Utd of the championship though aren't they? Refs will bend over backwards for them as long as they are in this league. How many other clubs would not have had Taylor booked when he argued against a decision and followed the referree mouthing at him for 30 yards?

what was even more sickening than the awful refereeing and the niggly fouls that newcastle kept commiting was the way don goodman and the other idiot commentating made it their mission to be unofficial newcastle apologists

im really starting to hate football

also didnt like how there players were allowed to crowd the referee at every oppertunity half expected the ref to start hugging them at one point.

That'll be the Collocini who has come in for a teeny-weeny bit of slating from me over the last couple of years then, will it :D

The kick out at the back of Relish's leg was disgraceful. That could have caused serious injury if Collocini weren't such a fairy/so devious*.

I know stats can be used in many ways but have you actually compared this with other clubs or compared it with our records when behind under Warnock or Robson? Is one win in 10 worse than most when falling behind?

I think you are being harsh if you exclude Ipswich from your stats so that is 4 results out of 11. We also equalised twice against WBA and twice against Cardiff and equalised against Coventry and Scunthorpe. We also scored last against Coventry and Cardiff all of which supports my opinion that we have not lacked fight after falling behind this term.

OK results are all important but I'm surprised Jim that you come out with such a bold statement as 'def seems to be some of the old battle lacking when we go behind.' You may be right and we all remember Leeds, Liverpool, Wednesday and Forest from 02/03 but in general has that always been the case prior to Blackwell? You seem to suggest it has been a club speciality prior to this season.

Good post Spadge, but I (as Micalijo has already said) disagree with you that our heads went down. Temporarily yes. But after Newcastles dominant spell (45-60/65 mins) we went back onto dominating the game.

Most people know my thoughts (i've made it clear in many other posts that I think Blackwell should go) but last night I can't fault the players effort. I can fault their finishing, which was simply dire, but not their heart. We dominated the game, so i'll give KB a break for the moment. After some of the wayward shooting on Monday night, i'd have all the players staying behind an hour extra every day striking a moving ball from different spots around the area.

had to work. My lads said they were so lucky and us unlucky.
