This isn't a dig at anyone at the club but consider that:

- We haven't won a trophy in 100 years

- We've lost in 10 play-off attempts

- We are the largest club in Europe to have never qualified to play in any European competition.

- We are continuously adversely affected by ridiculous situations (COVID, Tevez, Evans, Segers etc.)

- We continuously bottle the big games.

There's something very wrong with our club in this regard, is there anything that can be done to change it?

The first thing to do would be to smash the cult around wilder.

We have never been that flush with money in comparison to the clubs we want to compete with.

A lot of it is self fulfilling prophesy doom and gloom. The atmosphere in the ground after the goal was disallowed totally flipped. It was " it's happening again" mentality rather than us roaring them over the line.

Tactics... you can see it in Wilder's decision making.

We were cooked at 1-1 and the fans could see it.

Yes don’t accept mediocrity

This is my record as a blade (born not made!)
10 playoff rounds lost
5 x finals
4 x semi finals
1 x relegation final

7 cup semi finals lost
(0 finals since 1936 /win 1925)
5 x fa cup semi
2 x league cup semi

I wax at all of them including the games that cost us relegation way back to Walsall at home and our relegation to Division 4
(Don who?)

We always bottle the big one off games
But I do remember some good times - Leicester away 5-2 being my all time favourite

It’s tough - I’ll always be a Blade - this club doesn’t know how lucky it is to have these diehard fans - about time it rewarded them a bit more often.
I’m gutted but still can’t rationalise why I wanted us to get promoted today when all I fear next season would be more misery in PL.

Those who went today got a free scarf, what more do you want? :)

Fucking fans eh ....

Nothing to do with subs etc or players shit passing..

Nope the fucking fans.

There's a couple of comments about owners and money.

Fair enough, that does come into it slightly.

But it doesn't explain why we couldn't beat Yeovil and Swindon amongst other things.

We do appear to have good owners who invested £10 million in Tom Cannon (dreadful, Wilder's fault).

Perhaps some sports psychologists would help?

Usually I'd be dead against consultants as they tend to be leeches but it would be interesting if someone professional looked into all of this and make suggestions of what we can do to change this.

Our fans were flat as always at Wembley but it's not mainly a fans issue

That stadium is uniquely stifling. It's unlike any I've ever been to. You feel like you're just shouting into the ether and wasting your all effort

The national football stadium isn't designed for football. It is absolutely dreadful

Couldn’t agree more, we are losers tbh, like you say 10 failed play offs, not won owt in 100+ years now, but all you get from our fans is “support Liverpool then” garbage tbh been a blade after days like today, god forbid we get to another anytime soon we won’t sell out top tier

Yep that's us cooked for attendance at any future play off final in the next 5 years

Did you see Sunderland fans singing loud for there second goal and got it, the uninspiring display from our fans is shocking, it's facts we all saw it, no passion at all, surely this affects the team, but let's blame wilder and the players it's easier!!
We haven’t been the same since covid.

Think we’re first team in like 29 years to lose a PO final after been up @ HT. first team not to go up having been top at xmas in a long time. Ultimately except Sunlun @ home which we were fortunate, we’ve been poor all season in big games.

Need a big look at this in the summer to get more character and fitness I think.

How can it be a club mentality? The club is the players, manager, coaches etc. and they change regularly. It's simply 10 performances at wembley which have been below par. That's it. Statistically it's unlikely, but statistics don't prevent something unlikely from happening.
So it's a club problem? Every managers problem? Sunderland were the underdogs today and got there second goal through there fans backing, do you think negative energy through our support may hindered us today or not

Agree pal, I'm disappointed in our fans, brilliant nwfire hand in pubs etc but get in ground and it's poor, to point Sunderland fans singing worse support weve ever seen and there right, in league we can go away and be unreal and get unreal feaback. But at wembley we look like acrington Stanley but with more fans sad

We can blame every manager for our consistent failers at wembley and big games, but our fans were shit again today, maybe it has a nock on affect to players? I 100%believe so
It’s the only thing that makes sense, and is the one constant across all the play off failures. Different players, managers etc but the same fans. Maybe the quiet negative “it’s happening again” vibe impacts the players?
