The loan window shuts tomorrow apparantly.
Do you think DW will bring anyone in?
Who should we be looking at?

I would like a tackling and ball playing midfielder to come in as Mcdonald cant tackle and Monty/doyle cant pass.
Someone like Michael Brown was for us back in the day (not that I want him back)

As far as midfielders go I expect we'll muddle through - until January at least.
We have enough bodies - the problem seems to be in finding the best combination.

PS You beat me by a nanosecond Jim.
We think alike, however.

Make do until January, then the fun will start.

Yep, and gives the existing team a chance to bond better. I think come Jan we could be up there, or there abouts and hopefully we will strengthen then. Don't want a team full of loanees thank you very much.

NML's new injury isn't helpful re: the pace available to the team, but I agree we can make do till the window reopens. The recent signs on Flynn have been encouraging - I still think Tonne and D-Mac are reasonable options to include too.

I think we'll struggle to maintain a top 6 position with the present squad we have.

We'd have been in a lower position already had it not been for the contribution of both Clarke and Phillips.

I can't se us signing anyone at this late stage, made all the more irritating by those on the other side of the city signing 2 players yesterday and SSN now reporting they have won the race to sign a young striker starlet from Arsenal until Jan, Sanchez Watt. A number of clubs were chasing his services apparantly.

We scored more goals, but conceded more goals. I think we have actually accumulated points faster without them, despite the fears we might implode...

It's time loaning players was made defunct or at least limit teams to the number of players they can loan out. I've read that Man City have over 20 prospects out on loan at the present time so I would suppose most top premier clubs are in a similar position. Time it was stopped.

Yes, yes,yes.

Can't say I'd noticed this electric pace NML was supposed to have had.

Beat me to it Dunc, we only won (I think) 2 out of 6 games when they played although arguably we should have had a lot more but for defensive mistakes and not closing games out. Having said that, who's to say that we wouldn't have won those games without them.

I think it's time for Flynn to get a run on the right and as others have said, muddle through with Bodie, Doyle, McD and Squinny until January. Not sure why McAllister is in and out of the squad and not too sure how much Willo will feature but I don't think we should be filling in with more loanees at this stage when we have enough options within the squad at the moment.

January will be a different kettle of fish and my fear is that deals won't go through quickly enough early doors for DW to bring in replacements. By all accounts, several deals may already be as good as done though so we can only hope it doesn't disrupt the squad too much.

Speak for yourself, Jim! Never has a squad been in more need of disruption. Roll on January and a Happy New Blades.

Hi SV, I'm as fed up of him as you lot are!

Mrs. P.

We have got far too much mediocrity as it is.
Could ship half a dozen out and we would see no change.
Piss poor squad and hardly any room for DW to make any significant changes.
Mind you what he has brought in has hardly improved us much.
Those coming back from injury are no better (unless we get the Morgan of yesteryear back).

We will only stay in the play offs cos the rest of this league is piss poor.
Third division bobbar - that's us in a nutshell.

Must have really hurt Pinchy when the maestro as you call him got player of the year the other year?

Danny Boy, is quoted as saying that more than likely there will be no loan deals today, nothing out there better than we have got, whilst I don't agree with the loan system, has he not seen our Midfield lately. Maybe no loans in, but why not loan Quinn, Doyle and Monty out! Someone must be daft enough to take em.

If DW said this, then what a load of bull. This excuess has been rolled out for years and look where our "so called better player got us - Relegation to lague 1) If its true then it clear that DW has no place at United. If he thinks there is nothing better out there, all he has to do it take a look at DOncaster and their arrangement with bringing in loan players for fraction of a cost. Why can't united do something like this?

are you for real ?

DW must have banged his head if he actually said there is nothing better out there.
Then again it depends where he is shopping if he has pittance to spend he is right.
