>think on these situations
sorry .. for a minute there i thought you'd posted official US foreign policy documents :-)

Erm. Yes!

:)

Actually JD (and SV) I was thinking of going to sit in the home end at Upton Park with my Blades shirt (covered) on the last days of the season (against Man City). If I West ham are to go down I'll precede to stand up, reveal the shirt and chant Sheffield United songs, sing about Tevez, laugh at them for going down etc.

However, I will not expect a beating as I'm sure those law abiding East londeners will not resort to violence. And of course acting in this manner would in no way mean that I deserved a slap for being such a fool. Oh no no. Alert the stewards and throw him out. Naughty boy you. Cheeky Nothern monkey!!?? Hmmmm.

And as you pick up your teeth Ollie, don't forget to smile - you are the moral victor here.

All I'm saying is that violence isn't justified by a few verbals. Yes you'd get marmalised for doing that at Upton Park, and it would be a staggeringly daft thing to do. But just because it would be inevitable doesn't make it right.

the reason this started was the 2 lads were chanting for blackwell to sort it out, a oldish man with a young kid said something to them, to which the lads started hurling abuse at the old man and swearing at him, this got a few other united fans angry, telling the lads to shut up and sit down, they then proceeded to offer the entire back of the kop out (not on a date) to which obviously a few people accepting that offer and hence the mad rush down the kop by people trying to get at them! The lads never apologised and were still abusing people even when surrounded, the stewards even though late to get there did a reasonably good job keeping people away from them, otherwise they would have been in alot of trouble!

These lads have been pissing people off for a while. Classic example was against Derby chanting "Scabs" at the Derby players - a number of NE Derbyshire Blades sit around the area and weren't happy at all.

Sorry but I'm all for giving annoying toe-rags a good clipping if they deserve it. It's the only language most of them understand.

Shows that they are pure idiots as wells as muppets then (if we hadn't esablished that already). Where as some North Derbyshire miners carried on working through the strike a lot didn't. I've got a picture somewhere of Arthur Scargill talking to some devoted picketers in Derby. Also, Tony Benn was MP for N Derbs/Chesterfield and he was a stallwart socialist.

Ok JD, sorry if I'm a bit over the top. But, if I was to do this are you seriosuly saying that I would not deserve a good slap?

I remember at the 1997 FA Cup Semi final, there were two Geordies sat in front of me. They kept standing up randomly and singing their Geordie songs, blocking my view. Can't tell you how annoying it was.

After a while (possibly when Shearer scored), a couple of United fans lost it, trampled over the back of me to get to them, and started laying into them. It was a shitty siutation in every respect, but in hindsight we should have asked the coppers to move them earlier, rather than wait until a mini-riot kicked off, splatting us in the process.

Did they deserve it? Well, it's hard to have any sympathy with people who put their heads in the lion's mouth. But I was equally unimpressed with the Blades who kicked-off and collected plenty of bystanders along the way.

You play with fire and you get burnt. Simple as.

Has the cat got Shoreham View's tongue? He was the one who was getting on his high horse about this issue.
