Also he thinks the players he has are good enough to compete once their mindset is sorted and they get back to playing.
As I expected - virtually no money to pay fees. This is all on Wilder to do what I think he does best …..wheel & deal with hardly any budget! We are back to preseason 2018/19 - first season without parachute money since then.

So much about the reset? Looks like nothing like that is going to happen. Weve renewed our STs so fell for it again!

Every year people expect transfers early.

Almost every year all clubs leave it stupidly late

Think it’s because when a club shows interest
The normal reply from agents is “yes we’re interested in joining you but prefer more time to weigh up our options”.

So what should a club do in that situation?
Walk away a lower quality player who’s willing to instantly sign for your club?

Clubs are kind of held to ransom, any clubs with real ambition like United
Will probably keep the agent on side and register their official interest in that player and ask to stay in the loop.
This is Uniteds transfer tactic, remain patient but have plan B and plan C targets identified just in case plan A target becomes too expensive and goes elsewhere.

To be fair to them I didn't realise how diverse their squad was until I just looked online, they have a mix of nationalities quite a few Brazilians in there, I have only seen clips never full games from their Championship League bits but it's a great story. My official "home town club" is Apea Akrotiri (I was born at RAF Akrotiri) and only have seen them once when I went back during my time about 25 years later, the club itself is based inside the Western Sovereign Base Area of Akrotiri and they seem to scout the most random of players, I don't know if it is just a thing of playing not really under pressure (smaller crowds) and a nice sunny climate but they are doing something right although with Akrotiri they do have more Cypriots as in the 2nd division rather than 1st.
Sorry, just realised I hadn’t come back to this.

Cypriot football is pretty random, but looking at how Pafos have done things, as well as other teams. The attraction and what Cyprus offers goes beyond sunshine and easy games.

I’ve written about this previously, but Pafos, formed in 2014 have had financial backing, but they’ve invested in the academy, recruitment, facilities to create a very competitive club not just in Cyprus but in Europe.

Whilst other clubs in Cyprus were struggling with taxes, finances, Mafia influence and hooligans, Pafos position themselves as a family club for the town and have done things with an international model and mindset.

The recruiting of players from South America, often young lads on loan is helped by the immigration system but also they’ve used the likes of Transfer Room to build international relations with clubs.

It’s not really a model that can be applied to the competitiveness of the English game but better connection with a club like Pafos (perhaps similar to how we’ve tried to tap into Belgium with the prince and Fradi with McCabe) would be beneficial to all parties. I think Pafos have a link with Watford

The real thing in Cyprus though is that qualification for Europe is becoming easier. Even if that is into the qualifiers, they are getting into the champions league, conference and Europa league consistently. Which will attract players
