to me, a manager has to have only one BIG attribute and thats motivation.
you see it week in, week out if the players are not motivated, when the cross the white line they play shite, we have seen it often this season.
if players think "feck it i cant be arsed and the gaffer wont drop me" then they just free wheel, no passion, no commitment, no drive.
but if the manager cuts him down, he may do one of two things either sulk and hand in a transfer request or decide he has a little respect for himself, his team mates and players around him but most of all the fans, the people paying him £10k per week to do a job he allegedly loves.
cloughie had respect, paisley had it, fergie has it but very few now have the total respect of thier players, if micky can harness thier respect and turn that into commitment, we will bounce back, his first job will be to stand up to the board and demand commitment from them, that will show the players he's commited and that if he will stand up to the board, they dont stand a chance of playing arsey with him.
