The next couple of years will surely see the first United First team player to be born in the 21st century. Is there anyone in our current youth academy likely to take that honour?

It looks like we'll be entering the 2020s and still we haven't played anyone born in the 21st century. I guess we are one of the few clubs not to have done so now (mind you, I'm having to scrape the barrel to find a reason to be critical of Chris Wilder !)

I always thought this was an ode to Carl Tiler, before I saw it wrote down. Always wondered why he had been held in such high esteem, locally.

I'll be honest. I'm not a fan of "oooohhhh hasn't he got a funny name" humour.
In recent years, the strategy at the Academy has been to bring youngsters through Development Football. And then loan them out to Senior Football when "they are ready". So, using the "already been loaned out" criteria. (I'll stand/hope to be corrected). The most "advanced" youngsters we have who were born in 2000 or later are....

Jordan Doherty, who has been on loan at Tampa Bay with Neil Collins as manager.
Sam Graham, who has been on loan at Central Coast Mariners (Australia) & now at Notts County.
Marcus Dewhurst, on loan at Guiseley.

This season, to be eligible to play in the FA Youth Cup, players have to be born 1 Sep 2001 or later. In my opinion, Harry Boyes is the stand out talent of that age group.

I can't wait for boy-girl with unmarried parents who thought it cool to give them double-barrelled surname...have their own son and repeat the process....who goes on to play football.
