I always used to convince myself that if we’d beat someone in the league we’d lose the same fixture in the play-offs and vice versa. This is going back to the late 90’s when I think it happened once against Ipswich or Sunderland or something and in my head it’s remained as FACT ever since

I thought this against Burnley in the play off final. Lost to them twice in the league then again in the final so now I just presume we will lose no matter who we play

Big win against Cardiff and take it from there.
With everything that’s gone against us this year… the poor start, last minute goals conceded, injuries, awful referee decisions… it’s not part of the equation to gain promotion!
But here we are still in it!
The results haven’t been great the last few games that’s obvious. But I personally think we should’ve beaten both Bournemouth and Bristol City.
Do I want the playoffs? Hells yes! Let’s get in there and show everybody what we’re capable of! UTB!

what i’m reading from that is 2nd place might have a crap last 6 games, drop to 3rd and win the playoffs

and that teams struggle to sustain their form going into the playoffs, leaving it open for other teams to exploit
